Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems, components, and products within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles, proficiency with CAD tools, and an eagerness to learn and grow through collaborative design reviews, prototyping, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BE/BTech or ME/MTech).
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, GD&T, manufacturing.
• Proficiency in a 3D CAD software (UG NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or Autodesk Inventor).
• Familiarity with 2D drafting tools (AutoCAD or DraftSight).
• Knowledge of CAE tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, COMSOL) is a plus.
• Understanding of DFM/DFA and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools.
• Create 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis and fit checks.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and quality teams.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support ECN/ECR documentation and change management.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulations for stress or thermal analysis.
• Ensure designs meet standards, safety, and cost constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and design validations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and quality departments.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support documentation and engineering change management (ECN/ECR) processes.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulation analysis for stress, thermal, or motion (if applicable).
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, safety, and cost constraints.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding ofmechanicaldesignfundamentals materials, GD&T, manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software, such as:

4. Creo (Pro/ENGINEER)
5. Autodesk Inventor

• Familiarity with 2D drafting tools (AutoCAD or DraftSight).
