Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems, components, and products. You will rely on CAD tools to create parts, assemblies, 2D drawings, and BOMs for manufacturing, while contributing to prototype work and design iterations.

You should have a solid grounding in mechanical design fundamentals, GD&T, and manufacturing processes, with familiarity in multiple 3D CAD packages (UG NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo,

Qualifications

• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, GD&T, manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software (see tools list).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and design validations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and quality departments.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support documentation and ECN/ECR processes.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulation analysis for stress, thermal, or motion (if applicable).
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, safety, and cost constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and design validations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and quality departments.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support documentation and engineering change management (ECN/ECR) processes.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulation analysis for stress, thermal, or motion (if applicable).
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, safety, and cost constraints.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
