Job summary

RGBSI in Chennai, India invites a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our multidisciplinary engineering team. You will design, develop, and refine mechanical systems using CAD tools, create 2D drawings and 3D models, and contribute to BOMs and design validations.

You should have a BE/B.Tech or ME/MTech in Mechanical Engineering, solid fundamentals in design and GD&T, and hands-on experience with one or more 3D CAD packages such as UG NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or Inventor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong foundation in mechanical design, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software (UG NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or Inventor).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and design validations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and quality.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support documentation and ECN/ECR processes.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulation analysis for stress or thermal considerations.
• Ensure designs meet standards, safety, and cost constraints.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems, components, and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles, proficiency with CAD software, and an eagerness to learn and grow within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and design validations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and quality departments.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support documentation and engineering change management (ECN/ECR) processes.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulation analysis for stress, thermal, or motion (if applicable).
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, safety, and cost constraints.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• B.E/B.Tech or M.E/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding ofmechanicaldesignfundamentals materials, GD&T, manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software, such as:
