Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of mechanical systems, components, and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical design principles, proficiency with CAD software, and an eagerness to learn and grow within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

The role involves creating detailed 2D drawings and 3D models, performing tolerance analyses, and collaborating with manufacturing, electrical, and quality

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech or M.E./MTech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, materials, GD&T, manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software such as UG NX, SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo (Pro/ENGINEER) or Autodesk Inventor.
• Familiarity with 2D drafting tools (AutoCAD or DraftSight).
• Basic knowledge of CAE tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, COMSOL) is an advantage.
• Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and BOMs for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and design validations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, electrical, and quality departments.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support documentation and ECN/ECR processes.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulation analysis for stress, thermal, or motion (if applicable).
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, safety, and cost constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical parts, assemblies, and systems using CAD tools.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) for manufacturing.
• Perform tolerance analysis, fitment checks, and design validations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and quality departments.
• Assist in prototype development, testing, and design iteration.
• Support documentation and engineering change management (ECN/ECR) processes.
• Conduct basic FEA or simulation analysis for stress, thermal, or motion (if applicable).
• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards, safety, and cost constraints.
