Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a senior MDM/L3 engineering architect for warehouse Android device management, MDM/EMM platforms, and global governance. The role entails leading enterprise architecture, escalation handling, and collaboration with OEMs to drive product roadmaps.

The position requires 10–15 years of experience in enterprise mobility, OS/firmware governance, and security architecture. This is a high-impact technical leadership role based in Chennai, India.

Qualifications

• Design and own the global enterprise architecture for warehouse device management services, including handheld devices, scanners, printers, Android OS, and MDM/EMM.
• Serve as the principal technical authority and escalation lead for complex device, application, security, and integration failures escalated from L3/L2 operations.
• Architect master frameworks for Android OS upgrade pathways, firmware baselines, zero-trust profiles, enrollment certificates, and SSO matrices.
• Design, scale, and govern lab infrastructure to reproduce edge-case failures, analyze logs, validate hotfixes, and sign off on readiness.
• Lead strategic architectural alignments with OEMs and vendors to drive root-cause investigations and guide roadmaps.
• Establish governance protocols for fleet health, lifecycle security risks, MTBF, MDM architecture, and firmware stability.
• Author engineering documentation including RCA artifacts, runbooks, and release readiness frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Drive the corporate device technology roadmap, risk assessment frameworks, certified master hardware matrices, and hardware refresh strategies.
• Design standardized global testing and compliance frameworks for Android OS, firmware updates, business applications, MDM configurations, and hardware security.
• Provide end-to-end technical leadership, escalation path structuring, and strategic resolution planning for critical, high-impact warehouse device incidents globally.
• Vendor Management: Own strategic OEM and third-party vendor relationships at an architectural level, driving milestones and providing data-driven evaluations.
• Release Gatekeeping: Govern global golden image baselines, master enrollment profiles, approved enterprise catalogs, and configuration standards.
• Continuous Improvement: Identify and champion automation, management optimization, standardization, and risk reduction.

• Lead strategic architectural alignments with OEMs and software vendors to drive root-cause investigations for software/hardware defects, influence product roadmaps, and approve global workarounds.
• Establish enterprise governance protocols for fleet-wide device health, lifecycle security risks, MTBF statistics, MDM system architecture, and overall firmware stability.
• Author and structuralize critical engineering documentation, including root-cause analysis (RCA) artifacts, enterprise technical runbooks, and global release readiness frameworks.
