The Manager - Store role is responsible for planning, optimising, and developing material flow, warehouse infrastructure, and logistics processes within a manufacturing environment. The position plays a key part in improving warehouse operations while supporting new model launches, production requirements, facility planning, and future capacity expansion.
Responsibilities
- Plan and develop material flow, storage systems, warehouse processes, and infrastructure for new models and production requirements
- Analyse existing material movement and warehouse operations to improve material flow, truck turnaround time, workforce utilisation, and overall productivity
- Conduct change-point studies and establish effective process flows for new model implementation and operational changes
- Plan and optimise warehouse areas, facilities, dock layouts, resources, and material-handling requirements
- Coordinate material flow with production requirements to ensure smooth and synchronised operations
- Identify opportunities to prevent material accumulation, bottlenecks, and unnecessary movement within warehouse and production areas
- Support capacity and future expansion planning through volume studies, space assessments, and operational visualisation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency, resource utilisation, and logistics productivity
Requirements
- 15–20 years of experience in stores, warehouse engineering, material planning, logistics, or material flow functions within a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of industrial warehouse and stores operations
- Hands-on experience in warehouse area planning and facility layout or design
- Knowledge of material flow and storage system planning
- Experience in production planning and coordination with production lines
- Exposure to new model or new product implementation
- Knowledge of capacity planning, volume studies, and resource planning
- Understanding of truck movement, dock planning, and turnaround-time optimisation
- Experience with ERP, SAP, or similar enterprise systems
- Strong analytical and process improvement capabilitiesExperience in production-line material supply, process optimisation, and capacity expansion projects
- Experience in a high-volume automotive or automotive component manufacturing environment would be particularly valuable
