Job summary

Pradeep Metals in Maharashtra is seeking an experienced maintenance leader to oversee preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of forging and press shop equipment, driving TPM, RCA, and continuous improvement to maximise machine availability.

The role requires hands-on expertise with hydraulic systems, forging presses, pumps, valves, and conveyors, plus coordinating with electrical teams and safety compliance, including LOTO procedures and ISMS audits.

Qualifications

• 14–18 years of relevant experience, preferably in Defence Industry/Ordnance Factories.
• Hands-on maintenance of forging/press shop machinery, hydraulic systems, reliability, preventive & breakdown maintenance, RCA, TPM, shutdown/overhaul management.
• Experience leading maintenance teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role & responsibilities

Manage preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities. Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for critical production equipment. Coordinate with Electrical and Automation teams to resolve equipment and production-line issues. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for repetitive and major equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions. Monitor maintenance KPIs including Department Objectives, MTBF, MTTR, machine availability, breakdown hours, and PM compliance. Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic breakdowns and ensure quick restoration of production. Experience in maintenance of forging presses, trimming presses, screw presses, hammers, billet heating systems, conveyors, and material-handling equipment. Strong hands-on experience in hydraulic forging presses, hydraulic power packs, pumps, valves, cylinders, and hydraulic circuits. Lead and manage day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment availability. Plan and execute major machine overhauls, annual shutdowns, and preventive maintenance activities. Manage critical spare parts, maintenance inventory, vendors, contractors, and maintenance budgets. Lead and develop a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and contract manpower. Drive TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Lean Maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability & Also prepare of ISMS Audits. Support installation, commissioning, modification, and improvement of new forging machinery and automation systems. Ensure compliance with plant safety standards, statutory requirements, LOTO procedures, and safe maintenance practices. Drive continuous reduction in breakdowns, downtime, maintenance costs, and recurring equipment failures. Need to adher strictly time management, HR Policies and rules's set by organisation time-to-time.

Preferred candidate profile

14 18 Yrs of relevant experience, preferably in the Defence Industry / Ordnance Factories.

Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance of forging / press shop machinery, hydraulic systems, equipment reliability, preventive & breakdown maintenance, RCA, TPM, shutdown/overhaul activities, and maintenance team management.
