Job summary

Chemicals And Ferro Alloys seeks a seasoned Head of Maintenance to lead maintenance and repair activities, ensuring safety and compliance while improving productivity.

You will develop strategies, oversee budgets and inventory, supervise teams, and drive preventive maintenance initiatives across plant locations, including casting equipment and CNC shop operations.

Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate in Electrical & Electronics with 15–20 years of experience.
  • Experience as Head of Maintenance in casting and foundry environments.
  • Knowledge of TPM, CMMS, EAM, and modern maintenance techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance and repair activities with a focus on safety and compliance.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategy to improve productivity and reduce costs.
  • Create maintenance schedules and delegate tasks to team members.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance, upgrades and condition.
  • Manage budgets, forecast spare parts, and monitor tools inventory.
  • Hire, train, and evaluate maintenance staff; ensure skills development.
  • Direct corrective action for maintenance or manufacturing problems.
  • Prepare reports on budgets, progress and time schedules.
  • Develop preventive/predictive maintenance programs engaging other departments.
  • Collaborate across plant engineering to support paint products across the BU.
  • Ensure compliance with India-specific safety regulations.

Role & responsibilities

Responsible for leading maintenance and repair activities, ensuring safety and compliance, and improving productivity and efficiency:


  • Maintenance strategy: Develop and implement a maintenance strategy to improve productivity and reduce costs
  • Maintenance schedules: Create maintenance schedules and delegate tasks to team members
  • Equipment maintenance: Oversee the condition of equipment and ensure it's properly maintained and upgraded
  • Safety and compliance: Ensure that all safety and health standards are met and that work is carried out in compliance with legal regulations
  • Budget management: Manage maintenance budgets and ensure they're in line with company goals
  • Inventory management: Forecast, order, and monitor spare parts, components, and tools
  • Vendor management: Hire and manage subcontractors and other vendors
  • Team management: Hire, train, and evaluate maintenance workers
  • Corrective action: Direct corrective action for any maintenance or manufacturing problems
  • Reporting: Document and submit reports on budgets, progress, and time schedules
  • Develop and implement preventive/predictive maintenance programs that engage workforce and cooperatively solves problems with other departments
  • Efficiently develop and utilize people, equipment, materials, and utilities to meet plant and SBU requirements for safety, environment, quality, and cost (budget)
  • Ensure maintenance department personnel are properly trained and skills are developed to achieve departmental requirements
  • Provide collaborative plant engineering and maintenance support for manufacturing paint products across the business unit
  • Understanding of legal safety regulations specific to India, within the industry

Preferred candidate profile


The ideal candidate is an engineering graduate in Electrical & electronics having 15 -20 years experience including at least 5 plus years as a Head of Maintenance. The candidate should be responsible for overseeing all aspects maintenance operations, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness and safety standards are met. The incumbent must have worked in a Casting company and aware of maintenance of all foundry equipment’s and CNC machine shop having machines like multi axis VMC’s, HMC’s, 5 axis machines & turning machines in multiple site locations. Should be exposed to modern maintenance techniques, TPM, Knowledge of Robotics, Predictive maintenance, Autonomous maintenance etc., and performance measures MMTR/MTBF. augmented reality (AR), computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and enterprise asset management (EAM)
