Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities for Engineers and Technicians.
• Lead machine upgrade, modernization, and reliability improvement projects within timelines.
• Analyze breakdowns, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions/Kaizen initiatives.
• Prepare and present departmental performance metrics for monthly reviews.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality and Safety for machine-related issues.
• Oversee spares management and inventory control.

Job Description

Skills, Knowledge required:

• Ensure trouble-free operation of all machines, including CNC machines, hydraulic and pneumatic automation systems, conveyors, ovens, and related equipment.
• Demonstrate the ability to manage and guide a team of skilled engineers up to Senior Engineer level.
• Strong mechanical maintenance knowledge of presses, index tables, conveyors, ovens, Doosan CNC, brother CNC, servo drive systems, laser welding machines, winding machines, belt drive systems, CAM-operated machines, turning machines, drilling centers, and centerless grinding machines and SMT/PCBA-based machines etc.
• Have thorough knowledge of machine assemblies and working principles through drawing interpretation and physical observation.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hydraulic power packs, pumps, cylinders, valves, and hydraulic circuits.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuit design and development with a focus on energy efficiency.
• Maintenance knowledge of CNC machine assemblies, including spindle systems, tool changers, ball screws, LM guides, lubrication systems, and work-holding devices.
• Knowledge of machine geometrical accuracy, alignment, backlash verification, and vibration monitoring.
• Knowledge of critical spare identification, inventory optimization, and spare cost reduction initiatives.
• Knowledge of machine design modifications, component redesign, material selection, and

poka-yoke implementation etc

• Hands-on experience in predictive maintenance technics like vibration analysis, temperature monitoring and Fluid analysis etc .
• Drive MTBF improvement and MTTR reduction through reliability improvement initiatives and Kaizen activities.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, engineering design concepts, and MS Office applications.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills to train, develop, and groom team members.
• Experience in 5S practices, breakdown analysis tools (Why_Why analysis), problem-solving techniques, safety standards, quality standards, and management systems is essential.
• Awareness of IATF 16949, ISO 50001 EnMS requirements in automotive manufacturing environments.
• Basic knowledge of PLC architecture, machine interlocks, and industrial automation systems.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the day-to-day activities of Engineers and Technicians to ensure effective maintenance execution.
• Lead and manage machine upgrade, modernization, overhauling maintenance and reliability improvement projects within defined timelines.
• Analyze machine breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions and Kaizen initiatives to prevent recurrence.
• Prepare, review, and present departmental performance metrics for monthly management review meetings.
• Consolidation of Hits & Miss for monthly performance review.
• Coordinating with Manufacturing, Quality and Safety functions for machine related issues.
• MTBF & MTBF performance monitoring, improvement Plan & Action
• Spares management and inventory control.
