Job summary

Tata Communications Limited is seeking an experienced Network Engineer for IP/MPLS O&M in a 24x7 environment spanning Africa and Europe. The role requires deep expertise in IP/MPLS, VPNs, BGP/MPLS TE, and hands-on work with Cisco/Juniper devices and Mikrotik gear.

Candidates should have 8–10 years in telecom/NOC settings, CCNA and JNCIA at minimum, with MTMCA/CCNP/JNCIS preferred. Strong troubleshooting, NMS familiarity, and SD-WAN/optical knowledge are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years of experience in Telecom/ISP IP/MPLS operations or NOC
• Experience in IP networks O&M and Provisioning
• Strong understanding of IP/MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, BGP, MPLS TE
• Excellent troubleshooting skills for L2/L3 protocols
• Hands-on experience with Cisco and Juniper devices
• Experience with Mikrotik devices
• Understanding of Metro-E networks and Broadband networks
• Knowledge of Network Management Systems (NMS) and willingness to manage NMS servers
• Experience with Wireless, SD-WAN and Optical networks is a plus

Responsibilities

• IP/MPLS core network surveillance in a 24x7 environment across regions where the customer is present
• Handle IP/MPLS core network and customer service related trouble tickets
• Manage customer escalations from Level-1 and generate reports as required
• Perform root-cause analysis of logged trouble tickets
• Conduct routine checks for the IP/MPLS network per customer support processes and KPIs
• Solve complex network and system performance problems that require substantial analysis
• Work independently, assess customer requirements and propose solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver innovative solutions
