Job summary

Tata Communications Limited seeks an experienced network engineer to manage IP/MPLS core networks in a 24x7 environment across Africa and Europe. You will handle troubleshooting, escalations, and root-cause analyses while ensuring adherence to KPIs and SEACOM processes.

The role requires 8–10 years in telecom/IP/MPLS, strong O&M and provisioning skills, and hands-on experience with Cisco/Juniper devices. A background in Wireless/SD-WAN/optical networks is advantageous.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years in a Telecom/ISP IP/MPLS/NOC environment.
• Experience in IP networks O&M and provisioning.
• Strong knowledge of IP/MPLS L2/L3 VPNs, BGP and MPLS TE.
• Excellent troubleshooting for L2/L3 protocols.
• Hands-on with Cisco and Juniper devices.
• Familiarity with Metro-E and broadband networks.
• Knowledge of Network Management Systems and willingness to learn NMS.
• Experience with Wireless, SD-WAN and optical networks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• IP/MPLS core network surveillance in Africa and Europe 24x7.
• IP/MPLS core network and customer service trouble ticket handling.
• Handle escalations from L1 and generate reports as needed.
• Root cause analysis of logged trouble tickets.
• Routine checks for IP/MPLS network per SEACOM processes and KPIs.
• Solve complex problems requiring analysis of network and system performance.
• Work independently, assess customer requirements and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• IP/MPLS core network surveillance across Africa and Europe where SEACOM has presence in a 24x7 environment.
• IP/MPLS core network and customer services related trouble ticket handling,
• Handling customer related escalations from Level-1 team and reports generation as and when required.
• Root cause analysis of logged trouble tickets.
• Handling routine checks for the IP/MPLS network as per laid out SEACOM support processes, procedures and KPIs.
• The engineer is expected to solve complex problems that require substantial analysis and investigation related to network and system performance.
• Ability to work independently, evaluate customer requirements and recommend solutions.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define, propose, and deliver innovative solutions.

Education & Certification

• Graduate in either Telecommunication, /Computer-Science/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering or related fields
• CCNA and JNCIA certifications a must.
• MTCNA, CCNP and JNCIS certifications are also preferred but not a must.
