As Manager - Events, you will be responsible for the overall planning, organising, and executing various aspects of events to ensure their smooth and successful operation. You will be responsible for ensuring that all logistical and operational aspects align seamlessly, contributing to the overall success of the event. 7 years or more of relevant work experience
Degree in event management/business administration
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with various teams to create a comprehensive event plan that covers all logistical details, prepare RFPs for vendors.
- Identifying and securing vendors/suppliers required for the event. Negotiating contracts, managing relationships, and ensuring timely deliveries of services.
- Collaborating with various teams, such as AV, catering, travel, and registration, to ensure proper communication and coordination.
- Overseeing on-site setup, execution of the event. Addressing any operational challenges in real-time to ensure a smooth attendee experience.
- Ensuring that all event elements meet quality standards, from signage and branding to guest experience and technical setups.
- Working within the allocated budget, tracking expenses, and managing cost-effective solutions without compromising the event's quality.
- Identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans to address unforeseen issues that may arise during the event.
- Keeping key stakeholders informed about the event's progress, addressing concerns, and providing regular updates.
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in planning and executing a range of events such as conferences, summits, and networking receptions/dinners.
- Ability to lead and manage teams, both internal and external, to achieve successful event outcomes. (Tight schedules, prioritise tasks, and ensure that all elements of an event run on time)
- Experience in managing event budgets and expenses, including cost tracking and cost‑saving strategies.
- Experience in effectively communicating with stakeholders, and team members to ensure alignment and understanding of event goals.
- Strong track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and make quick suggestions/decisions as situations evolve.
