Manager - Business Development (New Age Finance)

Business Development | Contractual -Full-Time | On-Site

The Manager - New Age Finance will support the General Manager - Business Development (Finance Cluster) in driving growth and ecosystem development for emerging financial services segments including fintech, digital assets, embedded finance, sustainable finance, and other innovation-led financial models.

The role will focus on client acquisition, market development, global outreach, ecosystem partnerships, and positioning GIFT City as a preferred international jurisdiction for New Age Finance players across Asia, Europe, US, and MEA.

Pay Band

• In the pay-scale of Rs.44,900-1,42,400 as per 7th CPC

Candidate Profile

• 6+ years of overall experience.
• Postgraduate degree in Finance, Business, Economics, International Business, or related field. MBA / CFA / CA (added advantage).
• Minimum 60% in graduation and higher studies.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Services (Fintech, Banking, Digital Payments, Asset/Investment Management, Consulting, or Professional Services).
• Demonstrated experience in Business Development, Client Acquisition, Market Expansion, or Strategic Partnerships.
• Exposure to global financial markets (Asia, Europe, US, MEA) preferred.
• Understanding of fintech regulations, digital finance models, capital markets innovation, and emerging technologies.
• Strong networking, relationship management, and communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with ability to track market trends and regulatory shifts.

Role Descriptions

Market Development & Client Acquisition

• Identify, target, and onboard New Age Finance entities including fintech firms, digital banks, payment platforms, blockchain companies, ESG-focused funds, and innovation-driven financial institutions.
• Develop and execute sector-specific market penetration strategies aligned with cluster objectives.
• Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective international and domestic clients.

Ecosystem Building

• Strengthen the New Age Finance ecosystem by engaging with startups, accelerators, venture capital funds, technology providers, and advisory firms.
• Support the development of strategic partnerships to enhance GIFT City’s competitiveness in innovation-led finance.
• Facilitate collaboration between regulators, service providers, and financial institutions within the cluster.
• Assist in driving international roadshows, business forums, and stakeholder engagements across Asia, Europe, US, and MEA.
• Develop relationships with global fintech associations, trade bodies, and investment promotion agencies.
• Represent GIFT City in industry conferences and New Age Finance forums.

Strategic Support & Thought Leadership

• Contribute to sector research, whitepapers, policy notes, and knowledge reports related to fintech and emerging financial services.
• Track global trends, regulatory developments, and innovation frameworks in New Age Finance to inform strategy.
• Support development of think tanks and innovation platforms within the Finance Cluster.

Stakeholder & Regulatory Coordination

• Coordinate with internal teams, regulators, and ecosystem partners to facilitate smooth client onboarding and operational setup.
• Assist in addressing investor queries, regulatory clarifications, and market-entry requirements.

Performance & Reporting

• Track key performance indicators related to client acquisition, ecosystem expansion, and international outreach.
• Prepare periodic reports, dashboards, and market intelligence updates for senior leadership.
