Job summary

Dharampal Satyapal Group (DS Group) in India seeks a skilled maintenance technician to service packaging machinery. You will perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, and support changeovers.

You will monitor performance, minimize downtime, maintain records, and coordinate with production and quality teams to ensure smooth operation of pouch packing, form-fill-seal, filling, sealing, and labeling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of packing and packaging machines.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems in packaging equipment.
• Maintain machines such as pouch packing machines, form-fill-seal machines, filling machines, sealing machines, labeling machines, coding machines, conveyors, wrapping machines, and other packaging equipment.
• Identify the root cause of recurring machine failures and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor machine performance and minimize downtime, breakdown frequency, and production losses.
• Perform regular inspection, lubrication, alignment, tightening, calibration, and replacement of worn-out components.
• Check and maintain motors, gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, sensors, pneumatic cylinders, solenoid valves, heaters, temperature controllers, PLCs, VFDs, and control panels.
• Support production teams during machine changeover, format change, startup, and machine setting.
• Maintain proper records of machine breakdowns, maintenance activities, spare parts, and downtime.
• Prepare and follow preventive maintenance schedules and checklists.
• Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and other departments to ensure smooth machine operation.
• Maintain adequate stock of critical machine spare parts and maintenance consumables.
