Job summary

Salem Stainless Steel Suppliers is seeking a Logistics In-Charge to manage day-to-day dispatch and logistics coordination activities based in Chennai. You will coordinate daily dispatches, arrange vehicles, and work with transporters and drivers.

Responsibilities include ensuring availability of dispatch documents (Invoice, Delivery Challan, E-Way Bill, LR/GR), tracking deliveries, and maintaining records. Strong MS Excel skills and 12 years in logistics are expected.

Qualifications

• 12 years of experience in Logistics / Dispatch / Transportation / Supply Chain.
• Any Graduate or Diploma preferred.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel.
• Knowledge of E-Way Bill, LR/GR and POD will be an advantage.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Strong follow-up and problem-solving ability.

• Coordinate daily dispatches based on customer orders and delivery schedules.
• Arrange vehicles and coordinate with transporters and drivers.
• Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse and Accounts teams for smooth dispatches.
• Follow up for vehicle placement, loading and timely dispatch.
• Track vehicles and monitor delivery status.
• Coordinate with customers regarding delivery schedules when required.
• Ensure availability of Invoice, Delivery Challan, E-Way Bill, LR/GR and other dispatch documents.
• Follow up for POD after delivery.
• Maintain records of dispatches, vehicle details, transporter details and freight charges.
• Coordinate and resolve delivery delays, vehicle breakdowns and other logistics issues.
• Verify transporter bills and freight charges.
• Prepare basic daily/weekly logistics reports.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of logistics activities.
