Job summary

Timken in Tamil Nadu seeks an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to support day‑to‑day production by maintaining electrical systems, interpreting schematics, and performing troubleshooting on PLC/CNC controllers. The role requires collaboration with teams and external vendors, with emphasis on preventive and predictive maintenance to achieve MTTR/MTBF targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical maintenance in manufacturing environments.
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and perform troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, controls & safety regulations.
• Understand electrical schematics and troubleshoot machines.
• Collaborate with team to perform tasks.
• Basic knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics.
• Familiar with electrical products, switch gears, controllers and wiring.
• Troubleshoot servo drives and their controls.
• Troubleshoot PLCs & CNC controllers (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
• Basic programming of PLC, HMI, CNC controls.
• Focus on predictive maintenance and key KPIs (MTTR, MTBF).
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of Kaizen, SMED, TPM concepts and related documentation.
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for repairs.
• Record daily activities in system for equipment history.

Role & responsibilities

• Strong thorough Knowledge and best practices on Electrical systems, controls & Safety regulations
• Ability to understand the Electrical schematics and troubleshooting of machines.
• Ability to manage and perform a task with teamwork & Collaborative skills.
• Basic Knowledge on Hydraulics & Pneumatics
• Basic knowledge on the Standard Electrical Products/Switch Gears/Controllers/Wiring/Electronic devices
• Basic trouble shooting and guidance of electrical Servos and its controls.
• Troubleshooting of Allen Bradley , Siemens, Mitsubishi PLC & CNC controllers
• Basic Programming of PLC,HMI, CNC controls
• Strong knowledge on Predictive Maintenance & Condition Monitoring, MTTR, MTBF and critical Maintenance KPIs
• Performing preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
• knowledge on Kaizen/Poke Yoke/ One Point Lesson/ SMED/Work Instruction/Standard Works/Basic TPM concepts
• Responding to emergency maintenance requests promptly
• Collaborating with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs
• Recording the daily activities in the system as the equipment history card for the future analysis.
• Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs
