Job summary

AP Management Consultants is seeking a skilled professional for electrical and instrumentation maintenance roles in Puducherry, India. The candidate will troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and ensure instrument calibration and loop checks are completed accurately.

The role requires reading P&IDs and wiring diagrams, coordinating with production teams, and adhering to PTW/LOTO safety standards to minimize downtime and support reliability improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC, DCS, SCADA, and control systems.
• Capable of calibration, loop checking and functional testing of instruments.
• Familiar with P&IDs, electrical drawings, instrument loop diagrams and wiring diagrams.
• Adhere to plant safety procedures, PTW and LOTO requirements.

Responsibilities

• Attend and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation breakdowns.
• Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Troubleshoot PLC, DCS, SCADA, VFD, control panels and automation systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot field instruments such as pressure, temperature, flow and level transmitters.
• Handle control valves, solenoid valves, sensors, switches and actuators.
• Perform instrument calibration, loop checking and functional testing.
• Read and understand P&IDs and wiring diagrams.
• Identify PLC I/O faults and communication issues.
• Support installation, commissioning and modification of electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Maintain records of breakdowns, preventive maintenance and calibration activities.
• Coordinate with production and other maintenance teams to minimize downtime.
• Ensure maintenance activities follow plant safety procedures, PTW and LOTO requirements.
• Maintain critical spares and coordinate with stores for maintenance requirements.
• Support continuous improvement and reliability improvement activities.
