Accenture is seeking an experienced Learning Operations Manager to lead the instructional design of diverse learning solutions. You will manage a team of designers and scheduling analysts, ensuring delivery aligns with client goals and SLAs, while collaborating with SMEs and stakeholders to drive measurable performance improvements.

The role requires 13–18 years in instructional design, deep knowledge of adult learning principles, and experience with eLearning, VILT, ILT, and mobile formats.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the instructional design of learning solutions across modalities (e-learning, VILT, ILT, microlearning, simulations, blended).
  • Apply evidence-based learning design principles including cognitive load theory, scaffolding, spaced learning, and practice-based reinforcement.
  • Conduct needs analysis and design intent sessions with SMEs, stakeholders, and learning leads.
  • Translate business goals and audience insights into structured, outcomes-focused learning journeys.
  • Ensure learning solutions are learner-centric, inclusive, and accessible, aligned to current learning standards.
  • Lead small teams of designers and developers to deliver programs on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with content developers, graphic/media teams, and platform owners to execute design plans.
  • Provide thought leadership on design approaches and formats aligning with business needs.

What would you do

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Instructional Design Manager with a strong foundation in adult learning theory, instructional design best practices, and digital learning solutions. This role is responsible for leading the design and development of high-impact learning experiences that are engaging, effective, and aligned to client goals. You will collaborate closely with learning strategists, delivery leads, content developers, and client stakeholders to bring learning programs to life grounded in learning research and designed for measurable performance improvement. Also the lead would be responsible for managing a team of Operations Lead, Team Lead and Scheduling Analysts which can vary by location. Also responsible for monitoring the operations to achieve service level agreements and serve as an escalation point to resolve client issues. Ensure successful delivery of learning solutions and review their effectiveness and applicability.

  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional systems design (ADDIE, SAM), and design thinking.
  • Experience designing learning in various formats: eLearning, VILT, ILT, mobile, performance support, etc.
  • Familiarity with learning platforms (LMS, LXP), authoring tools (Articulate 360, Rise, Captivate, Vyond, etc.) and learning data analysis.
  • Experience working in client-facing roles or global delivery models is preferred. Experience of working with Australian clients is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.

  • Project Leadership Collaboration
  • Lead small teams of designers and developers to deliver high-quality learning programs on time and within budget.
  • Work closely with learning experience designers, content developers, graphic/media teams, and platform owners to execute design plans.
  • Manage the instructional integrity of the learning solution through regular reviews and checkpoints.
  • Provide thought leadership on design approaches and formats that align with business needs, learning objectives, and technology platforms.
  • Quality, Innovation Continuous Improvement
  • Champion quality assurance processes, including peer reviews, storyboard walkthroughs, client reviews.
  • Integrate innovative learning formats including scenario-based learning, gamification, adaptive learning, and GenAI-assisted content where appropriate.
  • Drive continuous improvement by incorporating learner feedback, performance data, and learning analytics into design iterations.
  • Stay current with trends in instructional design, learning tech, GenAI tools, and LD industry standards.
  • Client Stakeholder Engagement
  • Act as the primary instructional design point of contact for internal teams and occasionally for external clients.
  • Facilitate design discussions, present learning solutions, and respond to stakeholder feedback constructively and professionally.
  • Translate stakeholder input into clear design revisions while maintaining instructional integrity and learning impact.
  • People Development Team Support
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior instructional designers.
  • Other responsibilities
  • Organize scheduling tasks, resources and priorities.
  • Work with Delivery Services Management, BI, Capability leads to create viable, cost-effective schedules and programs to agreed guidelines.
