Job Overview :
This role provides proactive and early visibility into employee relations and welfare concerns/risks, supporting timely intervention and sustained industrial harmony at the Coimbatore manufacturing plant. Housed within HR, the role operates as a plant-facing Labour Welfare and Employee Relations function with strong shop-floor presence, focusing on prevention, fairness, statutory compliance, and workforce stability.
Responsibilities
- 1. Act as the designated Labour Welfare Officer for the Coimbatore plant, ensuring compliance with applicable labour laws.
- 2. Ensure statutory welfare facilities are available and maintained.
- 3. Maintain statutory records and support inspections.
- 4. Maintain strong shop-floor presence and employee connect.
- 5. Identify early employee relations risks.
- 6. Handle employee grievances fairly and timely with recommended countermeasure and follow through.
- 7. Support disciplinary processes through fact-finding.
- 8. Lead investigations while ensuring confidentiality.
- 9. Manage contract labour welfare and compliance.
- 10. Support industrial harmony and workforce stability.
- 11. Identify recurring employee relations themes (discipline, absenteeism, conduct, communication gaps, etc.) and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- 12. Conduct targeted capability-building sessions for supervisors and frontline leaders to strengthen grievance handling, respectful workplace practices, and fair discipline.
Ethical & Safe Workplace (POSH)
- 13. Ensure effective implementation of the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) framework at the Plant.
- 14. Support Internal Committee functioning, ensuring statutory timelines, documentation, and confidentiality.
- 15. Drive periodic awareness sessions for employees and supervisors to reinforce respectful workplace standards.
- 16. Monitor trends (if any) and recommend preventive interventions to strengthen workplace safety and inclusion.
Essential
- 1. Bachelors degree in HR / IR / Labour Welfare or related field.
- 2. 8–10 years plant-based ER or labour welfare experience.
- 3. Strong knowledge of Indian labour laws.
- 4. Experience managing shopfloor and contract labour.
- 5. High integrity and strong interpersonal skills
