Job description

Role & responsibilities
1. Time Office & Workforce Management
  • Overall management of the plant Time Office function.
  • Ensure accurate recording and monitoring of attendance, shifts, overtime, leave and absenteeism.
  • Ensure timely availability and accuracy of attendance and payroll-related inputs.
  • Monitor contract labour attendance, deployment and statutory records.
  • Identify and address issues relating to absenteeism, overtime and workforce discipline.
2. Industrial Relations & Employee Relations
  • Maintain harmonious industrial and employee relations across the plant.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and domestic enquiries in line with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Liaise with union representatives and workmen to address operational and employee-related issues.
  • Support wage negotiations, settlements and implementation of agreed terms,wherever applicable.
  • Drive discipline, grievance redressal and adherence to standing orders and plant policies.
  • Proactively identify potential IR issues and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
3. Statutory Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, factory-related regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain statutory registers, records, returns, licences and notices.
  • Ensure compliance relating to contract labour, wages, working hours, overtime, leave and employee welfare.
  • Support internal, corporate and external compliance audits and ensure timely closure of observations.
4. Plant Administration
  • Oversee day-to-day administrative operations of the plant.
  • Manage security, housekeeping, transport, facilities and other employee support services.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers and ensure adherence to agreed service standards.
5. Canteen & Employee Welfare
  • Overall supervision of the plant canteen operations.
  • Ensure food quality, hygiene, safety and service standards in compliance with applicable statutory and company requirements.
  • Coordinate with canteen vendors and monitor service levels, billing and contractual obligations.
6. HR Operations & Employee Engagement
  • Support implementation of HR policies, processes and corporate initiatives at the plant.
Key Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Relations and labour laws.
  • Hands-on experience in Time Office and workforce management.
  • Strong understanding of statutory and factory compliance.
  • Excellent grievance handling, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to manage unions and workmen in a manufacturing environment.
