Job summary

Amor Management Consultants is seeking a Head HR for a manufacturing plant in Karnataka. The role focuses on HR and Industrial Relations to drive workforce productivity, engagement, talent management and statutory compliance.

You will lead manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding and performance management across the plant. Responsibilities include wage settlements, union management, change management, payroll systems and HR analytics.

Head HR

Location - Karnataka

Lead the HR function for a manufacturing plant business, with a strong focus on HR and Industrial Relations, driving workforce productivity, employee engagement, talent management and statutory compliance.

Responsibilities

1. Develop and implement the HR strategy aligned with business and plant objectives.
2. Manage manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding and workforce productivity.
3. Lead Talent Management, Performance Management and Succession Planning.
4. Drive Learning & Development, capability building and leadership development.
5. Manage employee engagement, retention and organizational culture initiatives.
6. Handle compensation, benefits and HR policies in line with business requirements.
7. Drive HR analytics, HR dashboards and manpower cost optimization.
8. Partner with business leaders on organization restructuring and change management.
9. Ensure effective implementation of HR systems, attendance and payroll systems.
10. Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements and company policies.

IR

1. Manage Industrial Relations across the manufacturing plant.
2. Maintain effective relationships with workmen, unions and employee representatives.
3. Lead wage negotiations, long-term settlements.
4. Handle disciplinary matters, grievances, domestic enquiries and employee disputes.
5. Monitor absenteeism, attrition, productivity and shop-floor employee relations.
6. Develop strategies for maintaining a stable and harmonious industrial environment.
7. Ensure compliance with labour laws, standing orders and statutory requirements.
8. Work closely with Plant Head, Operations and Production teams to resolve shop-floor issues.
9. Build a proactive IR framework to minimize disruptions and improve workforce productivity.

Preferred Experience

• 1525 years of HR experience in the auto-component / manufacturing industry.
• Strong exposure to manpower planning, talent management, performance management and employee engagement.
• Experience in unionized manufacturing environments preferred.
• Proven experience in wage settlements, union management and grievance handling.
• Experience in Greenfield/Brownfield projects would be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.
