Key Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management
- Manage and maintain servers, computers, laptops, printers, scanners, network equipment, Wi-Fi, and other IT assets.
- Ensure smooth functioning of LAN, WAN, internet, VPN, and hospital communication systems.
- Monitor IT infrastructure performance and resolve technical issues promptly.
Hospital Information Systems
- Manage and support Hospital Information System (HIS/HMS), EMR/EHR and other hospital applications.
- Coordinate with vendors for implementation, customization, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
- Ensure availability of systems used by OPD, IPD, Emergency, OT, ICU, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Billing, MRD, HR, and other departments.
IT Support & Helpdesk
- Supervise day-to-day IT support for hospital staff.
- Establish an effective IT helpdesk/ticketing mechanism.
- Ensure timely resolution of hardware, software, network, and application-related complaints.
Data Security & Cybersecurity
- Implement appropriate measures for protection of hospital data and confidential patient information.
- Manage user access, passwords, permissions, antivirus, firewall, endpoint security, and security monitoring.
- Conduct regular data backup and recovery checks.
- Ensure compliance with applicable data protection, cybersecurity, and hospital IT requirements.
Server & Database Management
- Monitor hospital servers, databases, storage systems, and backups.
- Ensure regular backup of critical hospital data.
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity procedures.
IT Asset Management
- Maintain an updated inventory of IT hardware, software, licenses, and other technology assets.
- Plan procurement, replacement, upgrades, and AMC/CMC requirements.
- Control IT asset allocation and utilization.
Vendor Management
- Coordinate with HIS/HMS, hardware, networking, internet, CCTV, biometric, and other IT vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance and service-level agreements.
- Evaluate quotations and provide technical recommendations for IT procurement.
CCTV, Biometric & Digital Systems
- Supervise hospital CCTV, biometric attendance, access-control, display systems, digital signage, and other technology-enabled systems.
- Coordinate with concerned departments for system integration and maintenance.
IT Projects & Digital Transformation
- Identify opportunities to improve hospital processes through technology.
- Lead implementation of new IT systems and digital initiatives.
- Support automation of administrative and clinical processes.
Team Management
- Lead and supervise IT executives, engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance.
- Conduct training and awareness sessions for hospital employees on IT systems and cybersecurity.
Business Continuity
- Ensure critical IT systems remain available 247, particularly for Emergency, ICU, OT, Laboratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, and Billing.
- Develop preventive maintenance and downtime management procedures.
- Maintain appropriate backup and recovery arrangements.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare periodic IT performance and incident reports for management.
- Maintain IT policies, SOPs, documentation, and system records.
- Support internal and external audits related to IT infrastructure, information security, and hospital systems.
