Job summary

Staff Plus Hr Services seeks an IT support professional to manage OPD IT systems, hardware, software and networks, ensuring uptime for kiosks and EMR terminals. You will assist doctors, nurses and front-desk staff with logins, printing and data entry, and helpdesk tasks within the OPD.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years of hospital IT experience, a IT-related degree, and strong Windows and HIS/EMR knowledge with good communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Health Informatics or related field.
• 2–4 years IT support experience, preferably in a hospital/healthcare setting.
• Strong Windows OS and network knowledge; familiarity with HIS/EMR.

• Staff onboarding and training on OPD software platforms and tokens.
• Data backups, reporting on OPD volumes, wait times and system usage.

Job description

• Role Purpose: Manage and maintain information technology (IT) systems, hardware, software, and networks specifically dedicated to or utilized within the Outpatient Department.
• Reports To: IT Manager / Hospital Administrator / Head of OPD Operations.
• Key Goal: Ensure zero downtime for OPD check-in kiosks, electronic medical record (EMR) terminals, and queue management systems.

Core Responsibilities:

• System & Network Maintenance
• Hardware Upkeep: Maintain computers, printers, barcode scanners, and touch-screen kiosks in OPD registration and consultation rooms.
• Network Support: Troubleshoot local area network (LAN), Wi-Fi, and server connectivity issues affecting OPD billing and doctor desks.
• Software Management: Ensure smooth operation of the Hospital Information System (HIS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) software modules used in the OPD.
• User Support & Helpdesk
• First-Line Support: Resolve technical complaints from doctors, nurses, and front-desk staff regarding system log-ins, printing prescriptions, or data entry errors.
• Staff Training: Onboard new medical and administrative staff on how to use OPD software platforms and digital token systems.
• Data & Patient Flow Management
• Queue Systems: Monitor digital queue management and display boards to ensure patients move efficiently from registration to consultation.
• Data Backups: Coordinate regular backups of daily OPD patient logs, appointments, and billing records.
• Reporting: Generate daily and weekly reports on OPD patient volume, wait times, and system usage for hospital management.

Preferred candidate profile

• Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Informatics, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 to 4 years of experience in IT support, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems and local networks.
• Familiarity with Hospital Information Systems (HIS) or Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Good problem-solving and communication skills to assist non-technical medical staff.
