Qualifications

  • The ICU Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced medical support.
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessment of critically ill patients.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, neurological status, and other critical parameters.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and prescribed treatments within professional scope.
  • Monitor patients receiving oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, or mechanical ventilation.
  • Assist intensivists and doctors during procedures and emergency interventions.
  • Recognize patient deterioration and promptly elevate concerns.
  • Assist with CPR, resuscitation, and other emergency procedures.

The ICU Nurse provides specialized nursing care to critically ill patients requiring continuous monitoring and advanced medical support. The works closely with intensivists, physicians, and the multidisciplinary ICU team to ensure safe and timely patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessment of critically ill patients.
  • Continuously monitor vital signs, ECG, oxygen saturation, neurological status, and other critical parameters.
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and prescribed treatments within professional scope.
  • Monitor patients receiving oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, or mechanical ventilation.
  • Assist intensivists and doctors during procedures and emergency interventions.
  • Recognize patient deterioration and promptly elevate concerns.
  • Assist with CPR, resuscitation, and other emergency procedures.
  • Monitor fluid balance, intake/output, nutrition, and treatment response.
  • Maintain accurate ICU nursing notes, medication charts, and care plans.
  • Ensure readiness of emergency trolleys, medicines, monitors, and critical-care equipment.
  • Maintain strict infection‑control and aseptic practices.
  • Coordinate with doctors, respiratory therapists, laboratory, pharmacy, radiology, and other departments.
  • Assist with safe patient transfers and shift handovers.
  • Provide appropriate support and information to patients attendants according to hospital policy.
  • Participate in ICU audits, training, emergency drills, and quality‑improvement activities.
