Job Description

The Attending Consultant – Radiology provides senior-level diagnostic imaging services and clinical leadership within the radiology department. The is responsible for interpreting complex imaging studies, supervising radiology services, performing appropriate image-guided procedures, mentoring junior radiologists, and ensuring high standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review clinical information and determine appropriate imaging approaches where required.
• Interpret X-ray, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and other diagnostic imaging examinations.
• Provide accurate, comprehensive, and timely radiology reports.
• Communicate critical and urgent findings promptly to treating clinicians.
• Supervise and guide Senior Residents, Junior Consultants, and radiology trainees.
• Perform or supervise image-guided diagnostic and interventional procedures within approved clinical privileges.
• Correlate imaging findings with clinical and pathological information.
• Participate in multidisciplinary tumour boards and clinical case discussions.
• Coordinate with surgeons, physicians, oncologists, neurologists, obstetricians, and other specialists.
• Ensure appropriate imaging protocols and quality standards are followed.
• Oversee radiation-safety practices and compliance with applicable requirements.
• Monitor radiology workflow, reporting turnaround time, and diagnostic quality.
• Support quality assurance, peer review, clinical audits, and accreditation activities.
• Participate in recruitment, training, and competency development of radiology staff where applicable.
• Maintain high standards of patient communication, safety, confidentiality, and documentation.
• Participate in research, teaching, CME programs, and departmental development initiatives.
• Support evaluation and adoption of appropriate new imaging technologies and procedures.
