Job summary

JobItUs is seeking a Head of Production Planning & Control (PPC) to lead the PPC function at our manufacturing plant. You will plan, schedule and monitor production, ensure on-time delivery, and optimize capacity, manpower and materials while driving efficiency and continuous improvement.

The role requires 8–15 years of PPC/production experience in Electrical/Engineering or Manufacturing sectors, with strong ERP/MRP and MS Excel skills. MBA/PGDM in Operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Production, Operations or related field.
• MBA/PGDM in Operations or Production Management is preferred.
• Strong experience in PPC / Production Planning / Operations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on orders and requirements.
• Develop production schedules considering capacity, manpower, materials and priorities.
• Monitor production versus plan and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Stores, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Sales and Dispatch.
• Monitor material availability and address shortages affecting production.
• Analyze capacity constraints and bottlenecks across lines.
• Plan overtime or subcontracting where needed.
• Track orders, production achievement and delivery risks.
• Ensure plans support customer delivery dates and recovery plans.
• Manage ERP/MRP data including BOM, routing and production orders.
• Prepare MIS reports on production, orders and capacity utilization.
• Monitor inventory levels (Raw Material, WIP, Finished Goods) and support reductions.
• Lead Lean initiatives and drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy.

Job Purpose

To lead the PPC function and ensure effective production planning, scheduling and monitoring to achieve customer delivery commitments, optimum capacity utilization, efficient manpower and material utilization, and minimum production delays and inventory.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on customer orders and business requirements.
• Develop production schedules considering machine capacity, manpower, material availability and delivery priorities.
• Monitor production against planned quantities and take corrective actions for deviations.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Sales and Dispatch to ensure smooth production flow.
• Monitor material availability and identify shortages affecting production.
• Analyze machine, manpower and production-line capacity; identify bottlenecks and capacity constraints.
• Plan overtime, additional shifts or subcontracting wherever required.
• Track pending orders, production achievement and delivery risks.
• Ensure production plans support committed customer delivery dates and develop recovery plans for delays.
• Manage ERP/MRP data including BOM, routing and production orders.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly MIS reports covering production, pending orders and capacity utilization.
• Monitor Raw Material, WIP and Finished Goods inventory and support inventory reduction initiatives.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement practices to improve planning accuracy and schedule adherence.
• Lead, supervise and develop the PPC team and establish departmental KPIs.

Experience

• Experience in Electrical, Engineering or Manufacturing industries preferred.
• Strong experience with ERP/MRP-based planning systems is desirable.
