Job summary

G M Engineering is seeking a production planning professional to develop daily to monthly production schedules aligned with customer orders and forecasts. You will release, monitor, and adjust work orders across machining, assembly, and testing, coordinating with purchases to secure materials and with quality for inspections.

The role emphasizes planning accuracy, ERP updates, and proactive bottleneck management to meet delivery targets while maintaining optimal inventory levels.

Qualifications

• Experience in PPC in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP, or similar).
• Knowledge of MRP, capacity planning, and BOM.
• Knowledge of machining, assembly, testing, and valve manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in MS Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on orders and forecasts.
• Release and monitor production work orders with manufacturing departments.
• Plan and schedule machining, assembly, testing, painting and dispatch activities.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure timely raw materials and consumables.
• Monitor production progress and bottlenecks affecting delivery schedules.
• Maintain production planning records and update ERP with status.
• Coordinate with Quality to ensure inspection and clearance of finished products.
• Monitor WIP and optimise inventory levels.
• Prepare production reports and capacity utilisation reports for management.
• Coordinate with Sales and Dispatch for on-time delivery.
• Assist in capacity planning, resource allocation and production optimisation initiatives.
• Analyse production variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards and safety.

• Release and monitor production work orders in coordination with manufacturing departments.
• Plan and schedule machining, assembly, testing, painting, and dispatch activities.
• Coordinate with the Purchase and Stores departments to ensure timely availability of raw materials, bought-out items, and consumables.
• Monitor production progress and identify bottlenecks affecting delivery schedules.
• Follow up with production teams to ensure adherence to the production plan.
• Maintain production planning records and update ERP systems with production status.
• Coordinate with the Quality department to ensure timely inspection and clearance of finished products.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and optimise inventory levels.
• Prepare production reports, capacity utilisation reports, and order status reports for management review.
• Coordinate with the Sales and Dispatch departments to ensure on-time delivery to customers.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of Production Planning and Control (PPC) in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally ERP, or similar).
• Good understanding of production scheduling, Material Requirement Planning (MRP), capacity planning, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Knowledge of machining, assembly, testing, and valve manufacturing processes.
