Job Summary
The Trainee PPC (Production Planning & Control) supports production planning, scheduling, material follow‑up, and coordination activities to help ensure smooth workflow across manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for candidates with 1 year of experience who are eager to learn planning processes, ERP transactions, and cross‑functional coordination in a precision manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer requirements, order priorities, and available capacity.
- Support the preparation and release of work orders, job cards, and production schedules in coordination with production and planning teams.
- Track production progress against plan and update status reports for pending jobs, bottlenecks, and delivery commitments.
- Coordinate with stores and purchase teams to monitor material availability and help ensure timely readiness of raw materials and bought‑out items.
- Assist in monitoring machine loading, routing progress, and capacity utilization to support on‑time completion of manufacturing orders.
- Maintain and update planning data in ERP/MIS systems, including job status, material status, and schedule changes.
- Prepare basic planning reports, MIS summaries, and production updates for internal review by the PPC and operations teams.
- Follow up with production, quality, and stores teams for timely closure of open tasks and smooth interdepartmental coordination.
- Learn and support implementation of production planning practices such as prioritization, scheduling discipline, and basic inventory coordination.
- Ensure proper documentation and record maintenance related to schedules, work orders, production status, and dispatch readiness.
- Adhere to company procedures, quality standards, 5S, and EHS practices while supporting day‑to‑day PPC activities.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of production planning, scheduling, and coordination concepts in a manufacturing environment.
- Good analytical skills with proficiency in MS Excel; knowledge of ERP/MIS systems is an added advantage.
- Strong communication, follow‑up ability, and willingness to learn cross‑functional planning and production processes.
Qualifications
- BE / Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or relevant exposure to manufacturing operations.
- 1–5 years of experience in PPC, production planning, operations coordination, or a manufacturing support role; freshers with strong aptitude may also be considered.
