Job summary

GEM Home and Kitchen Appliances is seeking an experienced Production Planning & Control professional to manage end-to-end planning. You will translate demand into SKU-level production, manage MRP and BOM requirements, and coordinate with purchasing and logistics to ensure timely material availability while minimizing inventory.

The role emphasizes capacity planning, line loading, and continuous improvement in forecast-to-production alignment for multiple SKUs in a consumer appliance setting.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of PPC experience in manufacturing (as per the posting).
• Strong knowledge of Production Planning, MRP, BOM, Capacity Planning and Inventory Control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on sales forecasts, orders and inventory.
• Convert sales demand into SKU/model-wise production and material plans.
• Manage MRP and BOM-based material requirement planning.
• Plan machine, line, manpower and shift capacities according to production requirements.
• Monitor Plan vs. Actual production and take corrective action for deviations.
• Coordinate with Purchase/Supply Chain for timely availability of critical components and raw materials.
• Monitor material shortages and prevent production stoppages due to non-availability.
• Maintain optimum levels of RM, WIP and Finished Goods inventory.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, inventory turns and production adherence.

ROLE OBJECTIVE

To manage end-to-end Production Planning & Control, ensuring optimum utilization of plant capacity, timely material availability, adherence to production schedules and finished-goods availability as per sales requirements while maintaining optimum inventory levels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare monthly, weekly and daily production plans based on sales forecasts, orders and inventory.
• Convert sales demand into SKU/model-wise production and material plans.
• Manage MRP and BOM-based material requirement planning.
• Plan machine, line, manpower and shift capacities according to production requirements.
• Monitor Plan vs. Actual production and take corrective action for deviations.
• Coordinate with Purchase/Supply Chain for timely availability of critical components and raw materials.
• Monitor material shortages and prevent production stoppages due to non-availability.

• Manage high-SKU and seasonal production requirements typical of the appliance industry.
• Coordinate with Sales, Production, Purchase, Quality, Stores and Logistics for smooth execution of plans.
• Participate in S&OP meetings and balance sales demand against plant capacity and material availability.
• Monitor production bottlenecks, capacity utilization and line loading.
• Support new product/model launches and SKU phase-in/phase-out planning.
• Improve forecast-to-production alignment and reduce excess/obsolete inventory.
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly PPC MIS and management dashboards.
• Drive continuous improvement in planning accuracy, inventory turns and production adherence.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

• 812 years of hands-on PPC experience in a manufacturing organization.
• Strong preference for Home Appliances / White Goods / Consumer Durables / Electrical Manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of Production Planning, MRP, BOM, Capacity Planning and Inventory Control.
• Experience handling multiple models/SKUs and seasonal demand fluctuations.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP/ERP/MRP systems and Advanced Excel.
• Good understanding of procurement lead times and supplier constraints.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Experience managing a PPC team preferred.
