Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the housekeeping department's functioning, delivery, and staff motivation.
• Assign duties to floor staff including contract staff.
• Inspect rooms cleaned by contractors with emphasis on bathrooms, beds, mirrors and fixtures.
• Manage linen stocks and ensure timely delivery to floors.
• Plan annual maintenance and renovation for patient rooms in consultation with senior admin staff.
• Record lost and found items with nursing leadership.
• Supervise cleaning staff to improve cleanliness across buildings and wards.
• Develop a special cleaning squad and schedule for areas needing attention.
• Oversee cleaning of lines, water tanks, drains, and roofs.
• Ensure proper conduct, grooming, and training of hospital and contractor staff.
• Oversee maintenance and use of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Assist administration in organizing hospital functions.
• Maintain liaison with department heads for service feedback.

Role & responsibilities

• 1. To take complete responsibility of proper functioning of the Housekeeping department including its effectiveness and delivery as well as discipline, morale and motivation of staff.
• 2. To assign duties to the floor staff including contract staff.
• 3. To inspect each room cleaned by the contractors attendant with special emphasis on bathrooms, W.C., wash basins, beds, mirrors and all other fixtures and furniture.
• 4. To check all stocks of linen on floors and ensure its timely delivery from the linen room to the floors.
• 5. To maintain a regular and complete advance schedule for annual maintenance and renovation of the patient rooms in the allotted floors in direct consultation with GM (Admin.)/Deputy Medical Superintendent/Nursing Superintendent.
• 6. To ensure proper entries of all the lost and found articles handed over to the Sister In charge in the floor/CSO.
• 7. To supervise the cleaning staff of the Hospital to improve overall cleanliness of all buildings and wards.
• 8. To develop a special cleaning squad, prepare schedule for special cleaning of various areas.
• 9. To prepare programmes for outside cleaning, cleaning of line, stored water tanks and drains, roofs of various buildings of the Hospital.
• 10. To ensure proper conduct, discipline, grooming & training of hospital and contractors staff.
• 11. To supervise effective maintenance & use of housekeeping material, cleaning agents, equipment etc.
• 12. To help the administration in organizing any Hospital function.
• 13. To maintain liaison with various Heads of Departments of the various specialties and other Departments.
• 14. To analyze feedback from the Attendants/Patients relating to Hospital Services.
• 15. To visit investigating areas to interact with the patients and to help them in all respects.
• 16. To closely associate & take instructions from the Nursing Superintendent regarding Housekeeping in clinical areas on II to V Floor.
• 17. To carry out the above duties with the help of contractor’s staff and effectively manage the contractors’ of Laundry, Maintenance, Housekeeping including Interior and Exterior of the building.
• 18. To advise the GM (Admin.) regarding the effective management of F & B Services including presentation, standards of hygiene, accident prevention in Kitchen, Cost Control, Quality & Consistency of food for enhancing patient satisfaction.
• 19. Any other responsibilities assigned by the Hospital from time to time.
• 20. You shall report to GM (Admin.).
