Job summary

DR Sundararajan Neuro Hospital is seeking an experienced Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee daily cleaning operations across wards, ICUs, OT suites, and common areas. You will allocate staff rosters, monitor cleanliness, and ensure strict adherence to SOPs and infection control protocols.

The role requires 2–5 years in hospital housekeeping, with strong leadership, documentation, and coordination skills. Rotational shifts are expected, and NABH guidelines familiarity is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in relevant field preferred.
• Facility management or hospital administration knowledge is an added advantage.
• Minimum 2–5 years of housekeeping operations experience.
• Experience in hospital housekeeping and staff supervision preferred.
• Knowledge of NABH standards and infection control practices is advantageous.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of hospital cleaning and disinfection procedures.
• Understanding of biomedical waste management and infection prevention.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to maintain documentation, checklists, and reports.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts as per hospital requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities across all hospital areas.
• Allocate duties and prepare duty rosters for housekeeping staff.
• Monitor cleanliness of patient rooms, wards, ICUs, OTs, corridors, toilets, OPD, and common areas.
• Ensure compliance with cleaning schedules and SOPs.
• Monitor infection prevention practices in coordination with Infection Control Team.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and cleaning agents.
• Segregate and dispose biomedical waste per guidelines.
• Maintain housekeeping checklists and records.
• Clean isolation rooms and high-risk zones as per protocols.
• Train staff on procedures, hand hygiene, PPE usage, waste management, and patient safety.
• Monitor attendance, grooming, discipline, and performance.
• Maintain stock of materials, chemicals, consumables, and equipment.
• Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to concerned departments.
• Coordinate with Nursing, Infection Control, Maintenance, and Administration.
• Maintain NABH assessment records and internal audits.
• Investigate complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adequate coverage during all shifts, including night duty.

• Monitor implementation of infection prevention and control practices in coordination with the Infection Control Team.
• Ensure proper use of PPE, cleaning agents, disinfectants, and colour-coded cleaning materials.
• Ensure biomedical waste segregation and disposal practices are followed as per applicable guidelines.
• Conduct routine inspections and maintain housekeeping checklists and records.
• Ensure timely cleaning of isolation rooms, spill areas, and other high-risk zones as per hospital protocols.
• Train housekeeping staff on cleaning procedures, hand hygiene, PPE usage, waste management, and patient safety.
• Monitor staff attendance, grooming, discipline, and performance.
• Maintain adequate stock of housekeeping materials, chemicals, consumables, and equipment.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and incidents to the concerned departments.
• Coordinate with Nursing, Infection Control, Maintenance, and Administration departments.
• Maintain records required for NABH assessments and internal audits.
• Investigate housekeeping-related complaints and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure adequate housekeeping coverage during all shifts, including night duty.

Preferred candidate profile

• Any Degree / Diploma preferred.
• Qualification in housekeeping, facility management, or hospital administration is an added advantage.
