Job summary

Go Digit General Insurance seeks a seasoned Head of Engineering to own end-to-end delivery of General Insurance platforms. The role demands hands-on leadership, driving scalable, high-quality outcomes in a regulated setting and coordinating with Product, Business, and Architecture teams.

The incumbent will oversee cloud-first architecture, microservices, CI/CD, DevOps, SRE practices, and ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations while mentoring senior leaders and managing vendor partnerships.

Qualifications

• 15 to 20 years of engineering experience with leadership exposure.
• Strong General Insurance domain expertise (Motor, Health, Commercial, Property).
• Proven ownership of end-to-end delivery, beyond just architecture or people management.
• Experience with core insurance systems (Policy, Claims, Underwriting, Integrations).
• Strong technical depth in Cloud (AWS preferred), distributed systems, APIs and databases.

We are looking to hire an additional Head of Engineering to strengthen our General Insurance technology leadership. This role will have end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery, working alongside the existing leadership team to drive scalable, high-quality platform outcomes.

This is a delivery-focused leadership role, requiring strong hands-on expertise in building and scaling General Insurance systems in a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engineering delivery for General Insurance systems and platforms.
• Lead multiple engineering teams across backend, frontend, integrations, cloud, and data.
• Ensure predictable, high-quality delivery aligned with business and regulatory priorities.

• Partner closely with Product, Business, and Architecture teams for execution excellence.
• Implement modern engineering practices :
• Microservices and cloud-native architecture.
• CI/CD, DevOps, SRE, and observability.
• Own technical debt, system stability, and release timelines.
• Ensure adherence to IRDAI regulations, data security, and internal risk controls.
• Mentor senior leaders and foster a strong ownership culture.
• Manage vendor partnerships and delivery commitments.

Mandatory Requirements
