Job summary

Digit Insurance in Bengaluru is seeking a senior Head of Engineering for General Insurance. The role entails end-to-end ownership of engineering delivery, leading multiple teams across backend, frontend, integrations, cloud, and data to build scalable, compliant platforms in a regulated environment.

Ideal candidates have 15–20 years in engineering with leadership exposure, deep General Insurance domain knowledge, and hands-on delivery ownership beyond architecture.

Qualifications

• 15–20 years of engineering experience with leadership exposure
• Strong General Insurance domain expertise (Motor, Health, Commercial, Property)
• Proven ownership of end-to-end delivery
• Experience with core insurance systems (Policy, Claims, Underwriting, Integrations)
• Cloud (AWS preferred)
• Distributed systems, APIs, and databases
• Experience managing large-scale, transaction-heavy platforms
• Willingness to operate in a high-accountability, office-first setup

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end engineering delivery for General Insurance systems and platforms

Role Overview

We are looking to hire an additionalHead of Engineeringto strengthen our General Insurance technology leadership. This role will haveend-to-end ownership of engineering delivery, working alongside the existing leadership team to drive scalable, high-quality platform outcomes.

This is adelivery-focused leadership role, requiring strong hands-on expertise in building and scaling General Insurance systems in a regulated environment.

Good to Have

• Experience in InsurTech or regulated financial domains
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and data platforms
• Prior experience scaling systems in high-growth environments
