Overview

Our client is an Insurtech Company operating an embedded insurance distribution platform. Role: Head of Insurance.

Role and Responsibilities

Insurance Partnerships at the company involves working with global insurance companies to create delightful product experiences for our partners and end-users. As a leader of this function, you will be responsible to bring innovation and strategies to achieve this.

• Conceptualize new product ideas taking into account customers needs, work closely with above senior management team members to design the product including determining coverage, pricing, and economics for the customers, insurers, partners, and the Company
• Together with senior management team, determine strategies and roadmap for cross-selling, particularly in the aspects of product categories and pricing

Insurer Partnerships: In charge of managing existing insurer partnerships and winning new ones including getting insurer partner(s) to underwrite each product

Product Performance Monitoring: Monitor performance of each product (such as claim ratio) and propose amendments to coverage and pricing structure as required.

Regulatory Compliance: Keep up-to-date with prevailing rules and regulations governing the insurance industry and work closely with the Head of Legal & Compliance to manage relationship with the IRDAI, regulatory audits, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Expected / Desired Skillset

• 15+ years of total experience. Experience in Insurtech or Fintech preferred
• Selected candidate will be required to pass Principal Officer / Broker qualification exam if not already so qualified
• Deep insurance knowledge - Experience from the insurance industries and/or candidates with a consulting or investment banking background who has in-depth understanding of the insurance industry
• Strong relationships with insurers
• Sharp and innovative commercial / business acumen to identify opportunities along with enthusiasm for new age embedded insurance tech and innovation
• Creative, persistent, resourceful, detail-oriented, highly organized, hands-on
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-driven, comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, highly ambiguous environment
