Job summary

PERSOL is seeking a General Manager – Production in Maharashtra to lead two large-scale manufacturing units in the heavy engineering and pressure equipment sector. You will drive production, productivity, quality, cost, delivery and manpower efficiency across sites.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on PED-compliant fabrication, welding, machining and assembly expertise, with proven leadership over large production teams and a track record of implementing Lean, Six Sigma and 5S initiatives.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in production/manufacturing operations.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in heavy engineering/manufacturing.
• Mandatory: Experience in the PED / pressure equipment industry.
• Strong experience in pressure equipment manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machining and assembly.
• Exposure to ASME, PED and related engineering standards.
• Experience in production planning, resource optimization, cost control and quality management.
• Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP and production planning systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily, weekly and monthly production operations to achieve targets.
• Manage production across two manufacturing units with 200+ employees.
• Plan and optimize manpower, machines, materials and production capacity.
• Drive production planning, scheduling, productivity and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Procurement and Supply Chain teams.
• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, QCD and production standards.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor production costs, budgets, resource utilization and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical and operational leadership in fabrication, machining, assembly and welding.

Position: General Manager Production

Location: Asangaon, Thane
Reporting To: VP – Manufacturing
Industry: Heavy Engineering / Pressure Equipment Manufacturing

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced General Manager – Production to lead production operations at a large-scale heavy engineering manufacturing facility. The role will be responsible for driving production, productivity, quality, cost, delivery and manpower efficiency across multiple manufacturing units.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in PED-compliant pressure equipment manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machining and assembly, along with proven experience managing large production teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily, weekly and monthly production operations to achieve planned targets.


• Manage production across two manufacturing units with a workforce of 200+ employees.


• Plan and optimize manpower, machines, materials and production capacity.


• Drive production planning, scheduling, productivity and on-time delivery.


• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, Procurement and Supply Chain teams.


• Ensure adherence to quality, safety, QCD and production standards.


• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Monitor production costs, budgets, resource utilization and operational efficiency.


• Provide technical and operational leadership in fabrication, machining, assembly and welding.


• Ensure compliance with applicable PED, ASME and other relevant engineering/manufacturing standards.


• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve throughput and productivity.


• Develop production MIS, KPIs and performance reports for senior management.


• Mentor and develop production teams, supervisors and managers.


• Support implementation of new manufacturing technologies, processes and systems.


• Maintain high standards of shop-floor discipline, safety and operational excellence.

Key Requirements

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering.


• 15+ years of experience in production/manufacturing operations.


• Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in heavy engineering/manufacturing.


• Mandatory: Experience in the PED / pressure equipment industry.


• Strong experience in pressure equipment manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machining and assembly.

Preferred Candidate Profile

Candidates from pressure vessels, process equipment, heat exchangers, reactors, columns, skids, oil & gas, petrochemical or other PED/pressure equipment manufacturing environments will be preferred.

Important:

Candidates without relevant PED industry / pressure equipment manufacturing experience will not be considered.
