Job summary

Dreamspan Ventures in Maharashtra seeks an experienced Plant Head to lead production operations across three manufacturing units. You will develop daily, weekly and monthly production plans aligned with orders, capacity and resources, and drive continuous improvement using lean methods.

The role requires deep expertise in PPC, capacity planning, MRP and shop-floor control, with a track record of achieving throughput targets, reducing downtime, and optimizing manpower, machines and materials

Qualifications

• Experience: 10-15+ years in manufacturing/production operations.
• Plant Head / Production Head / Senior Production Manager experience.
• Experience managing multiple units/plants.
• Exceptional knowledge of PPC and production planning systems.
• Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and productivity improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complete production operations across all 3 manufacturing units.
• Develop and execute daily, weekly and monthly production plans based on customer orders, delivery commitments, capacity and available resources.
• Demonstrate exceptional expertise in PPC, production scheduling, capacity planning, material planning and shop-floor control.
• Ensure production plans are aligned with sales commitments and dispatch schedules.
• Monitor Plan vs. Actual Production and take corrective actions for deviations.
• Optimize utilization of manpower, machines, materials and production capacity across all three units.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, Quality, Maintenance, Projects and Dispatch teams.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and reduce downtime.
• Establish and monitor production KPIs, productivity targets, OEE, rejection, rework, downtime and capacity utilization.
• Control production costs by minimizing wastage, overtime, rework, rejection, idle time and machine downtime.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs, work instructions, quality standards and safety procedures.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and process optimization initiatives.
• Establish systems for WIP management, inventory control and production flow.
• Ensure preventive maintenance is coordinated to minimize unplanned breakdowns.
• Develop inter-unit coordination to balance workload and optimize capacity.
• Conduct production review meetings with Unit Heads, Production Managers, Supervisors and PPC teams.
• Analyse production data and prepare MIS/production/capacity/Plan vs. Actual reports.
• Identify recurring issues through root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure discipline, productivity and accountability across production teams.
• Support management in capacity expansion, machinery selection and plant improvements.
• Ensure readiness for new products, projects and high-volume orders.

• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, drawings, machines and manpower as per production requirements.
• Establish and monitor production KPIs, productivity targets, OEE, rejection, rework, downtime and capacity utilization.
• Control production costs by minimizing material wastage, overtime, rework, rejection, idle time and machine downtime.
• Ensure strict adherence to approved SOPs, work instructions, quality standards and safety procedures.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.

• Ensure preventive maintenance is coordinated effectively to minimize unplanned machine breakdowns.
• Develop and maintain strong inter-unit coordination to balance workload and optimize overall manufacturing capacity.
• Conduct regular production review meetings with Unit Heads, Production Managers, Supervisors and PPC teams.
• Analyse production data and prepare MIS reports, productivity reports, capacity reports and Plan vs. Actual reports for management.
• Identify recurring operational issues through root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
• Ensure discipline, productivity and accountability across all production teams.
• Support management in capacity expansion, machinery selection, process development and plant improvement projects.
• Ensure production readiness for new products, projects and high-volume orders.

Preferred candidate profile

Experience: 1015+ years in manufacturing/production operations, with significant experience in a Plant Head / Production Head / Senior Production Manager role.

Must-Have Experience:

• Proven experience managing multiple manufacturing units/plants.
• Exceptional knowledge of PPC and production planning systems.
• Strong experience in capacity planning, scheduling, MRP and shop-floor control.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, machines, manpower and material flow.
• Experience managing large production teams and multiple production functions.
• Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and productivity improvement.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven track record of achieving production targets and delivery commitments

Educational Qualification

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
• MBA / PG qualification in Operations or Production Management will be an added advantage.
