Job summary

Melzer Chemicals is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead manufacturing operations at our chemical facility in Kurkumbh MIDC, Pune. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and cost-effective production while upholding quality, compliance, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will have 10–15 years in chemical manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a managerial role, and a strong background in batch or continuous processes, ERP (SAP) and MS Office. Immediate joiner preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 10–15 years in chemical manufacturing with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Immediate joiner preferred.
• Strong knowledge of batch or continuous process operations.
• Experience with production planning, process optimization, and safety management.
• ERP experience (SAP preferred) and proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities to meet production targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards.
• Optimize production processes to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Lead and develop production teams, including supervisors and operators.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Supply Chain departments.
• Monitor production KPIs such as OEE, yield, downtime, and productivity.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare production reports and present performance metrics to management.
• Drive preventive and corrective actions to improve plant performance.
