Job summary

WTE Infra Projects seeks an experienced Production / Factory Manager to take complete ownership of factory operations for heavy fabrication and engineering manufacturing.

The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end production, planning, manpower, quality, safety, productivity, maintenance coordination, cost control and timely dispatch. The ideal leader should be hands-on on the shop floor with strong knowledge of heavy fabrication and welding processes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or engineering degree in mechanical/production/fabrication preferred.
• Hands-on factory leadership with experience in heavy fabrication.
• Experience in end-to-end production, planning, manpower, quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day factory and production operations.
• Plan and execute production as per project priorities and delivery schedules.
• Prepare production schedules, loading plans and targets.
• Coordinate with Projects, Planning, Design, Purchase, Stores, QA/QC, Maintenance, HR and Logistics.
• Ensure availability of drawings, BOMs, materials, tools and manpower before production.
• Monitor production progress; identify bottlenecks and take corrective actions.
• Manage cutting, forming, welding, machining, assembly, inspection, surface treatment, packing and dispatch.
• Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, ITPs, QAPs and customer requirements.
• Control rework, rejection, weld defects and material wastage.
• Manage supervisors, production engineers, welders, fitters, fabricators, operators and contract manpower.
• Ensure proper manpower deployment and improve shop-floor productivity.
• Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance of cranes, welding machines, cutting machines, compressors, rolling/bending machines and other equipment.
• Ensure safe working practices for welding, gas cutting, lifting, cranes, working at height and material handling.
• Monitor manufacturing cost, manpower cost, overtime, consumables and material utilization.
• Track production KPIs such as productivity, machine utilization, rejection, rework, downtime and on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with Project and Logistics teams to ensure timely inspection, packing and dispatch.
• Drive continuous improvement in productivity, quality, cost and delivery performance.
