Job summary

Godrej Process Equipment is seeking an engineering professional to manage manufacturing operations for process equipment. The role focuses on achieving production targets in line with Primavera schedules, ensuring quality, and driving cost reductions.

The candidate will oversee critical shop-floor machinery, implement maintenance plans, and uphold IMS and safety standards while contributing to TPM and Kaizen initiatives.

Qualifications

• Diploma / BE in Mechanical or Production engineering.
• Minimum 2 years (BE) or 4 years (Diploma) in process equipment manufacturing.
• Knowledge of IMS, ISO, and related procedures.

Responsibilities

• Achieve set production targets per Primavera plan.
• Manage critical machines and shop floor resource planning.
• Meet quality requirements and reduce costs; monitor welding processes and IMS adherence.
• Implement maintenance plans for shop floor equipment.
• Ensure safety and good housekeeping on the shop floor.
• Drive improvement projects with TPM and Kaizen.

Throughput Contribution

• 1)Achieve set production targets as per primavera plan
• 2)Manage critical machines and resource planning for shop floor
• 3)Meet quality requirement of the customers and ensure reduction of cost
• 4)Monitor and ensure correctness of welding process as per Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) and ensure strict adherence to welding parameters
• 5)Optimize utilization of automatic and semiautomatic processes to reduce manpower requirement
• 6)Ensure reduction of rework
• 7)Develop and execute maintenance plan for all machines in shop floor
• 8)Follow up with Quality department for stage inspections and NDT for testing
• 9)Ensure adherence to IMS norms and standards
• 10)Maintain shop floor discipline and ensure adherence to safe working practices
• 11)Ensure safety procedures are followed at all levels and good housekeeping levels are maintained
• 12)Implement management systems and initiatives such as IMS (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001), TPM, KAIZEN and Business Excellence for department
• 13)Manage industrial relations to ensure harmonious work environment
• 14)Drive and implement improvement projects related to Environment, Energy and Safety.

Capital Efficiency

• 1)Ensure that sequences are in concurrence with shop managers feedback
• 2)Create/Form data base for technical causes of delays & suggest corrective action.
• 3)Modifications of plans after revisions in drawings
• 4)Initiate actions for development of fixtures / arrangements ready for use.
• 5)Maintain estimated versus actual data for man-day-s allocated for all subcontracted components
• 6)Expedite work at every level to ensure the desired targets
• 7)Impart/Provide necessary training to the users for primavera implementation

Improvement and Strategic Initiatives

• 1)Ensure implementation of TPM (Total Productive Management) as per the divisional goal
• 2)Ensure TPM and Kaizen targets are achieved
• 3)Measure and take actions to improve performance of each manufacturing department
• 4)Work towards enhancing technical competencies of team and develop junior colleagues to take up larger roles.
