Job summary

Nuvotec Titanium Process Equipment is seeking an experienced Operations Leader to oversee plant operations, from fabrication to dispatch, while ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets. The role focuses on safety, quality, and continuous improvement across production and maintenance teams.

The successful candidate will drive Lean initiatives, manage capital expenditures, and coordinate with design, planning, and project groups to optimize capacity and profitability.

Qualifications

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Production / Metallurgical Engineering.
• Experience: 20 - 25 years in heavy fabrication / pressure vessel / special alloy manufacturing, with at least 5 to 7 years in a senior leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Overall responsibility for plant operations, including fabrication, machining, welding, surface finishing, and dispatch.
• Ensure production targets are achieved in line with project schedules, quality standards, and cost budgets.
• Optimize capacity utilization for titanium and alloy fabrication.
• Coordinate with Planning, Design, and Project teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Ensure compliance with ASME Sec VIII, TEMA, PED, client specifications, and statutory requirements.
• Drive strong QA/QC systems, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), NDT, and documentation.
• Handle client inspections, third-party inspections (TPI), and audits successfully.
• Maintain ISO systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
• Enforce strict safety culture across the plant, especially for titanium fabrication risks.
• Ensure compliance with statutory safety norms and environmental regulations.
• Lead safety audits, incident investigations, and preventive actions.
• Lead and mentor department heads (Production, QA/QC, Maintenance, Stores, Planning).
• Develop skill matrices and training plans for engineers, supervisors, and workmen.
• Maintain industrial relations, contractor management, and discipline.
• Ensure preventive and breakdown maintenance of critical equipment.
• Improve machine uptime and plant reliability.
• Plan capital expenditure for new machinery and technology upgrades.
• Monitor and control manufacturing costs, wastage, rework, and scrap.
• Improve productivity through Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.
• Support commercial and finance teams in cost estimation and budgeting.
• Support plant expansion, layout optimization, and commissioning of new facilities.
• Implement best manufacturing practices and digital tools where applicable.
• Benchmark performance against industry standards.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, inspection agencies, and internal management.
• Provide regular MIS reports on production, quality, safety, and costs to top management.
