Responsibilities

• Ensure shift-wise safety, housekeeping, and production target adherence.
• Coordinate with contract labor and operators to meet daily goals.
• Monitor production for schedule and quality compliance.
• Supervise machine operations and maintenance activities.
• Maintain ISO documentation and pass audits.
• Conduct production checks and uphold quality standards.
• Identify bottlenecks in manpower, downtime, or material shortages.
• Manage daily production, breakdown, and loss data.

Job description

Role & responsibilities:

General Manufacturing Responsibilities:

• Ensure shift-wise adherence to safety protocols, housekeeping standards, and production targets.
• Coordinate directly with contract labor and operators to meet daily production goals.
• Monitor and ensure timely completion of production as per schedule and quality norms.
• Supervise machine operations and ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out.
• Maintain ISO documentation and ensure compliance with audit requirements.
• Conduct production checks as per the sampling plan and ensure quality standards are met.
• Identify and elevate bottlenecks related to manpower, machine downtime, rejections, or material shortages.
• Maintain and analyze Daily Production Reports, Breakdown Reports, and production loss data.
• Ensure effective shift handovers and communication with incoming/outgoing supervisors.

Welding & Fabrication:

• Oversee structural welding operations and ensure compliance with welding standards.
• Possess sound knowledge of welding techniques and process; certification in welding standards is an added advantage.
• Ensure weld quality and adherence to design specifications.

Galvanizing Operations (If Applicable):

• Monitor and control daily consumable usage and implement control plans.
• Supervise the seven-tank batch process of hot-dip galvanizing.
• Ensure proper kettle operation, kettle chemistry, and maintenance activities.
• Oversee chemical handling, tank preparation, and revamping processes.
• Ensure compliance with MSDS guidelines and ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant) operations.

Preferred candidate profile :

Education :

Degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Production Engineering in Heavy Structural Fabrication / Transmission tower fabrication/ Galvanization

Experience :

8 + years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in steel structures or galvanizing. 2+ years in a supervisory role with team-handling experience.

Knowledge :

Strong knowledge of welding, fabrication, and galvanizing processes. Familiarity with ISO standards, safety regulations, and lean manufacturing practices.

Functional Skills :

Good communication, team management, problem-solving skills and supervisory skills.

IT Skills :

Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems.
