Job summary

Neuraleap Group in Dadri, Uttar Pradesh, is seeking a proactive Export Logistics Lead to independently manage and strengthen the company's logistics and export operations, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and compliant movement of goods.

You will plan container bookings, negotiate with carriers, drive cost reductions, implement SOPs, and build a capable logistics team to deliver continuous improvements.

Job description

Role Objective To independently manage and strengthen the company's logistics and export logistics operations, ensuring cost-effective, timely, compliant, and efficient movement of goods while continuously identifying opportunities for logistics cost reduction and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities 1. Export Logistics Management

• Manage end-to-end export logistics operations from order confirmation to shipment and documentation. Plan and coordinate container bookings, vessel schedules, stuffing, transportation, port operations, and shipment dispatches. Ensure timely shipment execution as per customer requirements. Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve delays or operational issues. Coordinate closely with Sales, Finance, Production, Warehouse, Documentation, CHA and customers.
• Freight & Cost Reduction
• Negotiate freight rates and commercial terms with shipping lines, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, transporters and other logistics service providers. Continuously benchmark freight rates and identify opportunities for cost reduction. Develop alternate shipping routes, ports, carriers and logistics partners wherever commercially beneficial. 1
• Analyse logistics costs on a shipment, customer, destination and route basis. Drive measurable reduction in freight and associated logistics expenses.
• Shipping Line / Forwarder Management
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with major shipping lines, NVOCCs, freight forwarders and transporters. Negotiate annual/periodic rates and spot rates. Evaluate service providers based on price, service quality, transit time, reliability and claims handling. Ensure adequate container and vessel availability during peak periods. Maintain multiple logistics options to avoid dependence on a single service provider.
• Shipment Planning & Execution
• Prepare shipment plans based on sales orders, production availability and customer requirements. Ensure optimum container utilization and shipment consolidation wherever possible. Monitor cut-off dates, documentation deadlines, vessel schedules and transshipment requirements. Track shipments until delivery and ensure timely communication of any changes or delays.
• DG / Compliance
• Ensure compliance with applicable shipping and dangerous-goods regulations for export shipments. Coordinate with shipping lines, forwarders and DG consultants regarding cargo classification, packaging, declarations and documentation. Ensure all export and shipping documentation is accurate and submitted within required timelines.
• Vendor Management
• Identify, evaluate and onboard new logistics service providers. Maintain a competitive vendor base and regularly review vendor performance. Conduct rate negotiations and periodic performance reviews. Ensure service providers meet agreed commercial and operational commitments.
• Process Improvement
• Establish proper SOPs for export logistics activities. Develop systems for shipment tracking, freight comparison and logistics cost monitoring. Introduce MIS and dashboards for management visibility. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. Improve coordination between Sales, Logistics, Finance, Production and Warehouse teams.
• Team Management
• Lead and manage the logistics team. Allocate responsibilities and monitor team performance. Train team members on export logistics procedures and documentation. Build a disciplined, responsive and cost-conscious logistics function.

• Prepare regular MIS covering: Freight cost Shipment volume Freight comparison Vendor performance Shipment delays Demurrage/detention Logistics cost savings Route and port performance Provide management with recommendations for cost optimization and operational improvement.
