Job summary

• Prepare and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/airway bills, certificates of origin, shipping bills, and other trade documents.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, transporters, suppliers, and overseas customers.
• Ensure compliance with import/export laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor shipment schedules, track consignments, and resolve delays or documentation issues.
• Liaise with international customers and suppliers regarding shipment schedules, documentation, and delivery requirements.

Position

Import & Export Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Import & Export Manager to manage and coordinate the companys international trade activities. The role will be responsible for handling import and export operations, documentation, logistics, customs compliance, international shipments, and coordination with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end import and export operations, including shipment planning, documentation, customs clearance, and delivery.
• Prepare and verify commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading/airway bills, certificates of origin, shipping bills, and other trade documents.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, transporters, suppliers, and overseas customers.
• Ensure compliance with applicable import/export laws, customs regulations, and company policies.
• Monitor shipment schedules, track consignments, and resolve delays or documentation issues.
• Handle import purchase orders and export sales orders from order confirmation through final delivery.
• Coordinate customs clearance and ensure timely submission of required documents.
• Maintain accurate records of import/export transactions and shipping documentation.
• Monitor freight, customs duties, transportation costs, and other logistics expenses.
• Work closely with finance and accounts teams for Letter of Credit (LC), payment, duty, and shipment-related documentation.
• Liaise with international customers and suppliers regarding shipment schedules, documentation, and delivery requirements.
• Identify opportunities to reduce logistics costs and improve supply-chain efficiency.
• Ensure proper maintenance of trade-related licenses, registrations, and records.
• Prepare regular reports on import/export shipments, costs, pending orders, and logistics performance.
• Stay updated on changes in customs procedures, international trade regulations, and documentation requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Logistics, or a related field.
• 3-8 years of experience in import/export, international logistics, or foreign trade.
• Strong knowledge of import/export documentation and customs procedures.
• Good understanding of international shipping terms such as Incoterms.
• Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping lines, and transport companies.
• Good communication, negotiation, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office/Excel and preferably experience with ERP systems.
