Job summary

Tractebel, part of the ENGIE Group, invites applications for a Manager/Sr. Manager Electrical in Gurgaon to lead design for utility-scale solar, wind, hybrid and storage projects across India and beyond.

You will develop layouts, cable routing, earthing, lightning protection and inverter station designs; perform cable sizing, short-circuit analysis, load flow and relay coordination; support pre-bid and Owner's Engineering reviews; and prepare feasibility studies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is essential.
• 8+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering.
• Strong knowledge of solar power plant design on DC and AC sides and relevant IS/IEC/IEEE/CEA/CERC/MNRE standards.
• Proven experience in electrical system studies and detailed engineering deliverables for utility-scale renewables.
• Proficiency in MS Office and energy simulation tools (PVSyst/SAM).
• Excellent communication skills in English, with ability to write reports and present findings.
• Willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and detailed engineering for solar PV, wind, hybrid, and energy storage projects.
• Develop general arrangement layouts, cable routing, earthing, lightning protection, and inverter station designs.
• Perform electrical calculations and system studies including cable sizing, battery sizing, short circuit analysis, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Support pre-bid engineering, Owner's Engineering, and Lender's Engineering through design document reviews and standards compliance.
• Prepare techno-commercial feasibility studies and Detailed Project Reports, resource assessments, and energy yield analyses using PVsyst and SAM.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Progress toward independent project management responsibility after mentoring.

What You'll Do

• Lead electrical design and detailed engineering for solar PV, wind, hybrid, and energy storage projects across national and international markets.
• Develop general arrangement layouts, cable routing, earthing systems, lightning protection, and inverter station designs for large-scale PV plants.
• Perform electrical calculations and system studies including cable sizing, battery sizing, short circuit analysis, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Support pre-bid engineering, Owner's Engineering, and Lender's Engineering by reviewing design documents and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
• Prepare techno-commercial feasibility studies, Detailed Project Reports, resource assessments, and energy yield assessments using tools such as PVsyst and SAM.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across geographies to deliver projects on time and within scope.
• Progress toward independent project management responsibility after an initial mentoring period.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (essential); Master's in Energy Studies, Renewable Energy, or related field (preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in renewable energy engineering, preferably within a consulting environment.
• Strong knowledge of solar power plant design on both DC and AC sides, including relevant IS, IEC, IEEE, CEA, CERC, and MNRE standards.
• Proven experience in electrical system studies and detailed engineering deliverables for utility-scale renewable projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and energy simulation software such as PVsyst or SAM.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to write technical reports and present findings clearly.
• Strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and willingness to travel to project sites.
