Role
The Digital Marketing & Communications Officer at Kodaikanal International School (KIS) supports the planning, coordination, and execution of marketing, communications, digital outreach, and brand initiatives for KIS. The role is responsible for managing KIS’s digital presence, publications, social media platforms, website content, marketing automation systems, and internal and external communications.
Working closely with the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), the position plays a key role in strengthening KIS’ visibility, engagement, storytelling, and admissions marketing efforts across multiple audiences and stakeholder groups.

Qualifications & Experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognised university in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Business, Information Systems, Computer Applications, Digital Technologies, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in Digital Marketing, Marketing Operations, Marketing Automation, CRM Management, Communications, Content Marketing, or related fields.
- Experience working with CRM platforms, marketing automation tools, analytics dashboards, and digital campaign management systems will be preferred.
- Previous experience in school marketing, educational institutions, or mission‑driven organisations will be preferred.
Preferred Hard Skills and Competencies
- Strong understanding of Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, and Content Strategy.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Canva, Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, Finalsite, and other relevant digital tools.
- Familiarity with marketing automation platforms, CRM systems, and workflow tools such as HubSpot and Zapier.
- Ability to manage website content, landing pages, forms, CTAs, and digital campaigns.
- Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and content development skills across multiple formats and audiences.
- Good understanding of SEO, website analytics, and digital advertising performance metrics.
- Familiarity with HTML and digital publishing tools.

Reports to: Director Marketing, Admissions, and Development.
Coordinates with: Admissions Office, Alumni & Development Office, VP’s Office, Creative Services, Faculty, Students, and all KIS departments.
Time Period: Initial 2-year contract, with the possibility to reapply for the position.
Responsibilities
Content Creation & Communications
- Create and manage content for Marketing initiatives, Institutional Communications, and Digital Campaigns.
- Write, edit, and publish articles, stories, newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials across multiple channels.
- Manage the publication schedule and coordination of monthly newsletters and external publications.
- Edit and refine articles and submissions from staff members and students to ensure quality and consistency.
- Support the Alumni & Development Office with content and publication requirements for alumni‑facing communications.
- Develop and maintain consistent messaging aligned with KIS’ institutional voice and brand identity.
- Assist with internal communication requirements, including parent‑facing communication support for the VP’s Office.
Social Media & Digital Engagement
- Support the CMO in managing KIS’ social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Create and maintain weekly and monthly social media publishing schedules.
- Work with the Creative Services Team to develop engaging content and coordinate visuals, captions, reels, videos, and campaigns. Monitor engagement and respond appropriately to incoming inquiries and comments.
- Track social media performance and provide periodic engagement and growth reports.
- Ensure all digital communications align with KIS’ branding and communication standards.
Marketing Support & Campaign Coordination
- Support the CMO in planning and executing marketing and admissions‑related initiatives.
- Assist with the development of materials and campaigns for prospective parents, students, educational consultants, and agents.
- Coordinate digital advertising campaigns across Google and Meta platforms.
- Work with internal teams and creative partners on campaign messaging and visual assets. Monitor campaign performance, lead quality, and regional engagement trends.
- Support market research, competitor analysis, and data collection efforts to inform marketing strategy.
Marketing Automation & Analytics
- Manage HubSpot (Starter or Professional) for lead capture, forms, workflows, lists, and reporting.
- Maintain and update lead databases, dashboards, and inquiry tracking systems.
- Support integration of HubSpot with external systems and tools using Zapier and related automation platforms.
- Generate periodic reports on inquiry trends, campaign performance, lead sources, and engagement metrics.
- Assist in improving marketing workflows and automation processes to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
Website Management & SEO
- Oversee website content updates and ensure accuracy and consistency of information across the KIS website.
- Coordinate with the Finalsite team for website updates, landing pages, form integrations, and troubleshooting.
- Ensure key pages, including Admissions, Alumni, Events, and Institutional Updates, remain current and engaging.
- Monitor website traffic and support basic SEO improvements to enhance discoverability and user engagement.
- Assist with the creation and optimisation of landing pages, CTAs, and campaign‑related content.
