Job summary

A leading global design firm seeks a Studio Director or Project Director in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have over 18 years of design project management experience with expertise in mixed-use, residential, commercial, or retail projects. You are expected to lead significant projects, manage client relationships, and ensure fiscal responsibility. Strong knowledge of building codes, architectural design, and experience with project management software like AutoCAD and Revit is essential. This role provides the opportunity to be a key leader in the organization.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of related design project management experience.
• Experience leading projects greater than 2 million sq. ft. preferred.
• Professional license or LEED accreditation is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• Experience leading projects > 2 million sq. ft.
• Professional license or LEED accreditation preferred.
• Experience negotiating project scope, fees, and managing financial performance.
• Experience with full project lifecycle through post-occupancy.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards, and structures.
• Significant technical understanding of architectural design.
• Experience with MS Project, AutoCAD or Revit is a plus.

Ideal Profile

• Entrepreneurial mindset with business acumen and client management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field.
• Ideally should also have experience leading projects greater than 2 million sq. ft.
• Professional license or certification or LEED accreditation preferred.
• Experience negotiating project scope, fees, managing project financial performance, and ensuring fiscal responsibility for projects.
• Experience with the full project lifecycle, through post‑occupancy.
• Knowledge of building codes, standards and building structures.
• Significant technical understanding of architectural design.
• Experience with project management software, such as MS Project is a plus.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the leader within the group and part of strategic growth.
• Implement one or more client projects through the leadership of project teams.
• Provide leadership to client and team by communicating project objectives, contract scope, terms and schedule.
• Manage scheduling, budgets, staffing, and project set‑up with clients, sub‑contractors, vendors and contractors.
• Prepare project proposals and negotiate contracts and fees.
• Track and manage financial performance of project for success (e.g., work plan, schedule, fees, change orders, billings and collections).
• Manage project lifecycle, estimating, bidding, project kick‑off, weekly coordination, punch list, turnover, opening, and project close‑out.
