Job summary

Mahindra and Mahindra Limited (Automotive and Farm Equipment Business) seeks a Quality Engineer for its automotive manufacturing division in India. The role focuses on ensuring the quality of assembled vehicles and adherence to production-line processes.

You will work with cross-functional teams to deploy quality systems, monitor SPC, conduct audits, and support documentation and training to continuously improve quality on the line.

Qualifications

• BE/BTech in Mechanical or Automobile engineering
• 3-7 years of experience in automobile manufacturing
• Experience with IATF/ISO audits is preferred

Responsibilities

• Understand assembly line equipment processes and parameters such as wheel alignment and dynamometers.
• Ensure consistent vehicle quality and straight pass quality.
• Apply Poka-yoke, HEP and QC tools for fault prevention.
• Develop and deploy quality systems aligned with BIQ.
• Identify gaps, bridge ownership, document and train staff.
• Monitor SPC on line torque control nut runner.
• Understand torque and pneumatic tools for calibration.
• Perform engineering specification tests on vehicles.
• Check and certify quality inspectors via MSA.
• Manage field failure through WRAP warranty reduction audit.
• Have knowledge of HVAC, brakes, clutch, diagnostics.
• Aware of IATF, ISO audits

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

1. Responsible with understanding of assembly line equipment’s process and parameterslike wheel alignment ,Dynamometers, filling equipment’s etc
2. Responsible Consistent Quality of rolled out vehicles with understanding of straight pass.
3. Systematic Concern Resolution Process with understanding of Poke yoke, HEP,& QC tools
4. Responsible for Develop & Deploy Quality Systems in line with focus on BIQ
5. Identifying the need, bridging ownership gaps, documenting & training
6. Responsible & Monitoring SPC on line Torque control nut runner (TCNR)
7. Understanding of torque and pneumatic tools for Calibration eg., TCNR,Battery tools
8. Responsible for engineering specification test on Vehicle
9. Responsible for check man(Quality Inspector) certification through MSA(measurement system analysis)
10. Responsible field failure control through WRAP(warranty reduction audit process)
11. Understanding of vehicle system like HVAC ,brakes, clutch, diagnostics etc
12. Must have understanding and exposure of Audits like IATF, ISO etc
