Job summary

Personnel Search Services Group in Mumbai seeks a DGM/GM - Store Design to lead design for new stores, remodels, relocations and special projects across regions. You will drive design strategy, ensure global brand standards, and manage cross-functional teams and external vendors.

Report to the Group Chief Asset Procurement Officer. Ideal candidates have 15–18 years in QSR/retail interior design, with proven multi-site rollout leadership, expert AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit, and strong stakeholder

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors in Architecture or Interior Design; PM/design software cert is a plus.
• Experience: 15–18 years in QSR/retail/hospitality interior design with multi-site rollout.
• Leadership: Manage designers, consultants, and external vendors.
• Technical: Proficient AutoCAD; knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, 3D visualization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development for new stores, remodels, relocations, and specials across regions.
• Manage end-to-end design deliverables from concept to GFC drawings.
• Prioritize and allocate work across design team to meet timelines.
• Ensure designs comply with global standards while localizing to site needs.
• Drive store layout, kitchen efficiency, and space optimization improvements.
• Standardize design practices, templates, and documentation across projects.
• Review and approve layouts, joinery, BOQs, and vendor drawings for accuracy.
• Manage relationships with architects, consultants, contractors, vendors.
• Conduct periodic site visits to verify drawings and suggest corrective actions.
• Mentor and develop store designers, lead design reviews, share knowledge.

Position Overview

The DGM/GM - Store Design role exists to lead the design development and execution for new stores, remodels, relocations, and special projects across multiple regions. This position drives design strategy, ensures compliance with global brand standards, and manages cross-functional teams and external vendors. The role reports directly to the Group Chief Asset Procurement Officer.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design development for new stores, remodels, relocations, and special projects across multiple regions.
• Manage end-to-end design deliverables from concept through Good for Construction (GFC) drawings, ensuring timely delivery aligned with project rollout timelines.
• Prioritize and allocate work across the design team to meet business requirements and project schedules.
• Ensure all store designs comply with global design standards while adapting to local operational and site requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in store layouts, customer flow, kitchen efficiency, and space optimization.
• Standardize design practices, templates, and documentation across projects to maintain brand excellence.
• Review and approve layouts, GFC drawings, joinery details, material specifications, BOQs, and vendor shop drawings to ensure technical accuracy and constructability.
• Manage relationships with architects, consultants, contractors, and design vendors, reviewing deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Conduct periodic site visits to ensure adherence to approved drawings, identify deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
• Mentor and develop store designers, conduct design reviews, and build capability within the design function through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Identify opportunities to simplify store design processes, improve turnaround time, support digitization, and recommend cost optimization while maintaining brand integrity.
• Participate in discussions with regional stakeholders, including the Indonesia team, to align design strategies and execution.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design; professional certification in Project Management or Design Software is an advantage.
• Experience: 15-18 years in QSR, Retail, Hospitality, or Commercial Interior Design with proven experience leading multiple store rollout projects simultaneously.
• Leadership: Experience managing designers, consultants, and external vendors; exposure to high-volume retail expansion programs.
• Technical Expertise: Expert proficiency in AutoCAD; strong working knowledge of SketchUp, Revit, and 3D visualization tools; thorough understanding of commercial interior construction, detailing, restaurant planning, customer circulation, kitchen workflow, operational layouts, MEP coordination, construction materials, finishes, joinery, BOQ review, and statutory approvals.
• Soft Skills: Excellent planning and organizing skills, attention to detail, effective communication and influencing skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
