Job Description: Project Head – Store Development

Role Overview :

The Senior Project Manager – Store Development will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of retail store development projects, ensuring seamless execution from design conceptualization through construction, fit-outs, and operational handover. This role demands strong project ownership across planning, commercial management, technical execution, and stakeholder governance to deliver stores aligned with global brand standards, business expansion timelines, and financial objectives. The incumbent will act as the central interface between brand teams, internal functions, consultants, landlords, and execution partners to enable successful multi-location retail rollouts.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Project Ownership

• Lead and manage the complete store development lifecycle from project initiation through launch readiness and handover.
• Define project execution strategies aligned with business expansion and brand rollout plans.
• Drive simultaneous multi-site retail projects ensuring delivery within approved timelines, budgets, and quality benchmarks.

Design & Technical Coordination

• Collaborate with architects, designers, and brand stakeholders during design development and validation phases.
• Review architectural drawings, technical specifications, and layouts for execution feasibility and cost optimization.
• Ensure adherence to global brand design standards while maintaining operational efficiency.

Budgeting, Commercial & Cost Management

• Develop and own project budgets, encompassing cost planning, forecasting, and ongoing financial monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
• Lead BOQ development and validation processes, ensuring cost accuracy, commercial viability, and alignment with approved project budgets.
• Drive cost optimization through value engineering initiatives while maintaining brand design and quality standards.
• Support commercial evaluations, vendor negotiations, and contract finalization to ensure cost-effective project execution.
• Plan and allocate project resources, including contractors, consultants, and vendors, to support efficient project execution.
• Oversee vendor performance to ensure adherence to quality standards, contractual deliverables, and project milestones.
• Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely availability of materials and services aligned with project schedules.

Site Execution & Fit-Out Management

• Oversee end-to-end on-site execution of civil, interior, and retail fit-out works, ensuring alignment with approved designs, quality benchmarks, and project timelines while enabling seamless integration of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) systems within store environments.
• Conduct periodic site reviews to monitor progress, maintain safety and quality standards, and proactively resolve execution challenges to ensure uninterrupted project delivery.
• Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) policies, statutory regulations, and organizational safety standards across all project sites.
• Serve as the central point of coordination across Brand, Procurement, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Facilities functions to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate closely with brand stakeholders to ensure adherence to approved store design guidelines and execution standards throughout the project lifecycle.
• Drive timely approvals, manage landlord coordination, and facilitate effective interdepartmental collaboration to support smooth project delivery.
• Identify project risks related to cost, timelines, design feasibility, and vendor performance.
• Implement mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and financial exposure.
• Ensure compliance with statutory approvals, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

• Provide periodic project updates, financial status reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
• Maintain project dashboards, governance documentation, and milestone tracking systems.
• Drive structured communication across stakeholders.

Project Closure & Operational Handover

• Ensure store readiness in alignment with operational and launch requirements prior to handover.
• Lead structured project closure, including final inspections, snag resolution, and formal handover to Operations and Facilities teams.
• Capture project learnings and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance future store rollout efficiency.

• Exposure to vendor management, landlord coordination, and mall-based retail environments preferred.
• Experience working with premium or luxury retail brands will be an advantage.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Architecture / Interior Design / Construction Management or related discipline.
