Devyani International is seeking an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Projects Design to plan, coordinate, and deliver design requirements for new store openings, relocations, and refurbishments across brands. The role involves managing end-to-end design, coordinating with architects, contractors, and cross-functional teams, and applying cost-efficient, compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• B.Arch. degree is mandatory.
• Experience in architectural design, retail, QSR, hospitality, restaurant development, or commercial fit-out projects preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp; Revit preferred; MS Office and design coordination tools advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end design for new store openings, relocations, remodels, and refurbishment projects.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural, interior, façade, kitchen, and MEP layouts in line with brand standards.

Designation: Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Projects Design

Role Purpose

The Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager Projects Design will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering the design requirements for new store openings, renovations, relocations, and refurbishment projects across Devyani International Limited brands. The role will ensure that all store designs comply with brand standards, operational requirements, statutory regulations, project timelines, and budgets while maintaining consistency and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

Design Management

• Manage the end-to-end design process for new store openings, relocations, remodels, and refurbishment projects.
• Prepare, review, and coordinate architectural, interior, faade, kitchen, and MEP layouts in line with brand standards.
• Optimize store layouts to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
• Maintain design standards, specifications, and documentation across all assigned projects.
• Coordinate design revisions based on operational and business requirements.

Restaurant Development

• Support the Business Development team during site evaluation and feasibility studies.
• Review landlord drawings, site conditions, and technical constraints.
• Recommend practical and cost-effective design solutions for proposed locations.
• Provide technical inputs during site selection and due diligence activities.

Project Coordination

• Work closely with Projects, Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Brand teams to ensure timely project execution.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, contractors, and vendors for design deliverables.
• Resolve design and technical issues during project execution.
• Ensure timely submission and approval of design drawings.

Cost & Quality Management

• Support value engineering initiatives to optimize project costs while maintaining quality and brand standards.
• Review BOQs, material specifications, and technical drawings.
• Monitor design quality and ensure compliance with construction standards.
• Recommend suitable materials and finishes based on project requirements.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, fire and life safety norms, accessibility requirements, and local building codes.
• Review design documentation before project execution.
• Maintain complete project design records and approvals.
• Ensure adherence to internal approval processes and governance requirements.

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) Mandatory

Experience

• Assistant Manager: 4-6 years of experience in architectural design, retail, QSR, hospitality, restaurant development, or commercial fit-out projects.
• Deputy Manager: 6-8 years of experience in architectural design, retail, QSR, hospitality, restaurant development, or commercial fit-out projects.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of architectural planning and interior design.
• Understanding of restaurant/QSR layouts and operational requirements.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building services.
• Familiarity with fire and safety regulations, local building codes, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit (preferred), MS Office, and design coordination tools.
